  104.           The statusline is the 3D box directly below the menu. It has two 
  105.           purposes: 
  106.  
  107.           1.

  109.           Displaying the number of selected files, dirs and their bytesize, and 
  110.           displaying the total number of files and dirs in the directory and 
  111.           their total filesize. The format is like this: 
  112.  
  113.           # of selected dirs / total # of dirs  # of selected files / total # 
  114.           of files  selected bytes / total bytes 
  115.

  118.           Displaying information that need no confirmation, like "Operation 
  119.           complete!".

  124.           Label and freespace boxes:

  126.           Purposes: 
  127.  
  128.                               - Display disk label of the current drive
  129.  
  130.                               - Display free diskspace on the current drive.

  132.                               - Show which directory window is selected. The
  133.                                box above the selected window is colored dark red.

  135.           Switching between directory windows: 
  136.  
  137.           This can be acomplished in several ways. The easiest way is by 
  138.           clicking the right mouse button in the window you want selected. This 
  139.           also causes free diskspace and disklabel to be updated for this 
  140.           window. 
  141.  
  142.           Another way is to use the left mouse button. This does NOT cause free 
  143.           diskspace or disklabel to be updated. 
  144.  
  145.           Note:  The last method causes the file beneath the pointer to be 
  146.           selected. 
  147.  
  148.           A third way is to use the keyboard. TAB switches to the other 
  149.           dirwindow, left arrow activates left dirwindow and right arrow 
  150.           activates right window.

  153. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.4. Directory windows ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  155.           Directory windows: 
  156.  
  157.           The directory (dir from now on) windows are two listboxes (my own, 
  158.           not the system's) containing files in the current dirs (you have two 
  159.           current dirs. A source and a target.). The selected dir automatically 
  160.           becomes the source and the other the target. Multiple files can be 
  161.           selected in the dir windows by either clicking on the files one by 
  162.           one, by draging the mouse up/down while holding mouse button #1 down 
  163.           or by pressing the ALL button or NONE button. 
  164.  
  165.           Left mouse button double clicking: 
  166.  
  167.           The dir windows support double clicking. DirMaster will take an 
  168.           action when any of the following are double clicked: 
  169.  
  170.                               - Directories. Double clicking on one will cause DirMaster to enter
  171.                                it and display it (replacing the current dir) in the dir window.
  172.  
  173.                               - Files with the extension EXE or COM. DirMaster will try to figure
  174.                                out wheather it is a DOS, OS/2 textmode or PM program. You can
  175.                                then specify cmd line parameters in execute dialog that pops up.
  176.  
  177.                               - Files with the extention CMD. DirMaster will load the cmdline
  178.                                interpreter (CMD.EXE) and run the batch file.
  179.  
  180.                               - Files with the extention BAT or BTM. The DOS cmdline interpreter
  181.                                will be loaded and the batch file run.
  182.  
  183.                               - Files with with extensions configured in the User button configuration.
  184.                                The corresponding user function will be executed.
  185.  
  186.           Right mouse button double clicking: 
  187.  
  188.           Double clicking with the right mouse button in a dir window does a 
  189.           "parent" in that directory. The is the same as pressing the Parent 
  190.           button.

  193. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.5. Directory path boxes ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  195.           Directory path boxes: 
  196.  
  197.           Path boxes (se picture below) are situated below the two dir windows. 
  198.           Their functions are to contain the path for the drive window above 
  199.           it. The boxes are automatically updated whenever a new directory is 
  200.           loaded. 
  201.  
  202.           The path boxes can also be used to change directories. Just click 
  203.           inside it, enter the desired directory (including drive) and press 
  204.           enter. If you made a mistake in the directory name DirMaster will let 
  205.           you know by writing <No directory loaded> in the label box above the 
  206.           dir window. The directory path you had typed will still be in the 
  207.           path box so you won't have to type it all over again.

  210. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.6. Arrow buttons ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
  211.  
  212.           Arrow buttons: 
  213.  
  214.           These three buttons does the following: 
  215.  
  216.           The < button reads the directory contained in the right dirwindow 
  217.           into the left dirwindow. The directory in the right window remains 
  218.           the same. 
  219.  
  220.           The > button does the opposite of the < button. It reads the 
  221.           directory contained in the left dirwindow into the right window. 
  222.  
  223.           These two buttons can be useful if for instance you wish to copy a 
  224.           file in the current directory into a sub dir in the current 
  225.           directory. To do that you would just have to "copy" the dir with one 
  226.           of the two buttons mentioned above, then enter the sub dir and the 
  227.           file is ready to be copied. 
  228.  
  229.           The <> swaps the two directories in the dirwindows. The left dir is 
  230.           moved to the right dirwindow and the right dir is moved to the left 
  231.           dirwindow. This has no practical use unless you prefer to have the 
  232.           target dir in, say, the right dirwindow.

  237.           The button panel is the 28 buttons at the bottom of the DirMaster 
  238.           window. They are divided into two types of buttons:

  248.           Drive buttons:

  250.           The four drive buttons are posisioned to the right on the button 
  251.           panel. Their function is to allow the user to quickly change between 
  252.           12 (Yes, twelve) dirs and/or drives configured in Configure - Drive 
  253.           Buttons. 
  254.  
  255.           These buttons appear like normal buttons, but are in fact not quite 
  256.           normal. Remember I said 12 and not 4 dirs and/or drives. This means 
  257.           there are 12 buttons too, but only 4 of them are visible at one time 
  258.           (Not quite room for 12 buttons, eh?). So, for those of you who know 
  259.           your math. 4 * 3 = 12. There are therefor 3 pages of buttons. 
  260.           Switching between these pages is easy. Press the right mouse button 
  261.           on any of the four drive buttons and the next page is shown. Pressing 
  262.           right mouse button on the last of the three pages takes you back to 
  263.           page one.

  270.           The function buttons consists of to types of buttons. Internal 
  271.           functions are those supplied by DirMaster (Copy, Move, Rename etc.) 
  272.           and user functions specified and configured by the user in the User 
  273.           configuration.

  275.           Just like the Drive buttons, these buttons behave a little different 
  276.           from ordinary buttons. They can each contain two functions. Double 
  277.           click here to get explanation. This gives you a total of 48 function 
  278.           buttons at you disposal.

  1092.           is a registered version.

  1094.           -The about dialog will display your name as well as your serial 
  1095.           number.

  1097.           -It doesn't cost much! Only $20 (140NOK). No hidden costs such as 
  1098.           postage or anything. Just hand me the money and a registration key 
  1099.           will be mailed to you by either email (Fido, SBC or any of the 
  1100.           mentioned BBSs in How to contact the author part of the 
  1101.           documentation) or snailmail.

  1103.           -The author has put down ALOT of work on DirMaster. The author has 
  1104.           used much of his sparetime (I still attend school) programming. He 
  1105.           deserves SOMETHING, doesn't he?

  1108.           continue improving and developing DirMaster.

  1110.           -This version (1.10) has gone through a few changes. It can no longer

  1113.           doesn't mean that I am giving away DirMaster for free. If very few of 
  1114.           the people using DirMaster registers it, then I may be foreced to add 
  1115.           more beg dialogs, delays and other cruel things. I don't want to do 
  1116.           that, and I dont think you, as a user, would like that much either. I
