  2.     Announcement for Internet-Connect (TM), Version 1.

  5. Core Systems is pleased to announce Internet-Connect, a networking 
  6. package designed for Windows users to get access to the Internet.
  7.  
  8. Internet-Connect provides a complete Winsock-compliance TCP/IP protocol 
  9. stack for Windows, a set of Internet utilities, Windows-based network 
  10. configuration tools, and a tool kit for Winsock developers, which 
  11. includes library, header files, online reference documentation, and
  12. utilities to capture Winsock API calls and networking data.

  14. The Winsock API and TCP/IP protocol components are implemented entirely  
  15. as DLLs, hence taking up zero below-640K DOS memory. Interface with LAN 
  16. device drivers and most data transfers are implemented via 32-bit VxD 
  17. (Windows Virtual Device Driver). Internet-Connect will run with a packet 
  18. driver, or, via appropriate shims, NDIS and ODI drivers. Internet-Connect 
  19. can run concurrently with most network operating systems, including 
  20. Novell Netware, Microsoft Windows for Workgroup, LAN Manager.

  22. The package includes a Windows-based installation program as well as a 
  23. network configurator to ease TCP/IP setup.

  25. For Winsock developers, Internet-Connect includes a developer's tool 
  26. kit with the product. The kit includes C header file, library, online API 
  27. reference, as well as a debugging tool to capture and log Winsock calls 
  28. dynamically.

  30. A trial version of Internet-Connect will be uploaded to cica and other
  31. archive sites on the Internet. This version has all features as the 
  32. full version, with the following restrictions:

  34.     - Only one copy of the trial version can be running on a network
  35. segment at a time.
  36.     - The trial version can open up to 8 sockets concurrently. (The
  37. full version has up to 128 concurrent sockets).

  39. The trial version of Internet-Connect is contained in inetcon1.zip. 
  40. This file can be downloaded from cica, directory winsock. We will also
  41. be uploading this to other Internet sites, as well as AOL and CompuServe 
  42. shortly.
