SECUR version 1.23
CopyRight (C) 1993 [H.A.U. Help All Users]
Phillip White a.k.a. Dream WEaver
Have you got a REMOTE SysOp that messes around with all kinds
of accounts on your board just to test different access levels
from lowest security to highest?
Well, no more! I've made a handy little utility here that can
accomidate a security level change while *online*!
Just add this .PPE to your CMD.LST in PCBSETUP,
ie. !C:\PCB\SECUR\SECUR.PPE with a command such_as "SEC"
to invoke it.
Because you'll want the SECUR.PPE to be accessed from ALL security
levels, including zero(0), I've implemented a passcode feature which
is read from a file called SECUR.CNF. Just put the passcode you want
on the first line of this file and your off! The passcode can be any-
thing including, ½¼ß, highascii.
Make sure to have SECUR.PPE *and* SECUR.CNF in the same directory
when you run SECUR.
One thing to note here. If you jump around to all kinds of security
levels, up and down, you may notice that due to lower time limits
imposed at certain security levels, you may "Time Up" changing to one.
make sure you have sufficient time left before making a change.
I have another utility that will provide a TIMEUP feature for such a
thing, called TIMEUP??.ZIP.
Also, some doors may not recognize the security increase/decrease due
to a memory problem. I am working on that now.
By the way... Everything is logged to the PCBOARD Caller log, including
Password failures, security changes, etc...
If you can think of *anything* that should be implemented as a command
in PCBOARD 15.0, don't hesitate to leave a message to Dream WEaver at
[H.A.U. Help All Users] either from the MATRIX if you are not a member
or on the board if you are.
More later.....
