  2.     The different licenses.
  3.   ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

  5.   There are several ways of registrating the FEBBS-package. It is
  6.   all depending on the environment where FEBBS will be running.
  7.  
  8.   NON-commercial license
  9.   ──────────────────────

  11.   Regarding the time and effort that has been have put into this
  12.   product, the NON-commercial registration is simple and rather cheap.
  13.  
  14.   Payment of the registration fee, entitles you to:
  15.  
  16.   - The license for running ONE copy of the FEBBS-package on any
  17.     computer in a NON-commercial environment. Although you must treat
  18.     the FEBBS-Package like a book. That is, it can't be run on more than
  19.     one CPU at a time.
  20.  
  21.   - A Serial number/Key file that makes your copy of FEBBS licensed
  22.     to You. This serial number/key file can be used on subsequent
  23.     releases for at least a year, Any copy can be used, also those
  24.     obtained from shareware sources like a BBS.
  25.  
  26.   - The license for NON-commercial usage can not be used in any other
  27.     environment than the NON-commercial environment itself.  Upgrading
  28.     to a commercial license or to a license for a closed BBS can be done
  29.     by paying the difference in price between the current license and
  30.     the new license;

  32.   The license does NOT include any update service.

  35.   Closed BBS license
  36.   ──────────────────

  38.   When you use the FEBBS-Package on a so called 'closed' BBS you
  39.   must pay for a closed BBS license.
  40.  
  41.   The  definition of a closed BBS is a BBS where the users must pay to
  42.   the Sysop to get full access. Also a BBS with three (3) or more lines
  43.   must pay a closed BBS License.

  45.   Payment of the registration fee, entitles you to:

  47.   - The license for running ONE copy of the FEBBS-package on any
  48.     computer in a closed BBS environment. Although you must treat the
  49.     FEBBS-Package like a book. That is, it can't be run on more than one

  70.   When you use the FEBBS-Package in a commercial environment you must
  71.   pay for commercial license use FEBBS. Any company registrating FEBBS
  72.   is regarded as commercial. It doesn't matter if the company is not
  73.   making any money from the usage. It is still being run from a
  74.   commercial environment.

  96.   The license is NOT a Site license. Contact the author for information
  97.   if you wish to enter a site license.

  103.   There is no need to pay any additional fees for this version. Although
  104.   You might want to purchase a copy of the printed manual.  Manuals are
  105.   only available to registered users.

  108.     New versions
  109.   ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

  111.   If you would like an upgrade of FEBBS sent to you when it is released
  112.   you can enter the update service.
  113.  
  114.   Paying the fee for update service entitles you to:
  115.  
  116.   - Receiving new releases for the period of one year or 10 releases
  117.     (which  ever comes first) on floppy disk by first-class airmail.
  118.  
  119.   The disk(s) will be mailed the same day as the new version is released.

  122.   Support
  123.   ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

  125.   The FEBBS-Package has full support from its author. New versions are
  126.   under constant development.  And the author is always open to user
  127.   input. So if you feel that something is missing or that something is
  128.   "backwards" let me know  and i'll have a look at it and maybe in some
  129.   future version you'll find it implemented.

  131.   As a registered user you are entitled to :
  132.  
  133.   - Free support.
  134.  
  135.   - This support consists of answering questions and fixing any program
  136.     errors the user submits to author in person.  Only program errors
  137.     that can be reproduced and that interfere with the intended use of
  138.     the program as outlined in the documentation will be fixed. The
  139.     author can ask you to give some special data to correct the problem
  140.     and can ask you to check if you own a valid copy of the
  141.     FEBBS-package.
  142.  
  143.   - The author may choose not to fix any problem that is related to
  144.     hardware and/or software configurations that causes one or more of
  145.     the programs in the FEBBS-package not to run correctly. If the
  146.     author chooses to NOT correct such a problem you are NOT entitled to
  147.     a refund of the license money.
  148.  
  149.   Unregistered users will only receive support if we have the time. We
  150.   do NOT guarantee that non-registered users will get any response from
  151.   the author.
