- A strategic puzzle game -
───────────────────────=≡ Let me say something first... ≡=──────────────────────
This program is the product of many hours of hard work. It can be copied
freely, but it must not be changed in ANY way and no money must be taken
for spreading or selling it. It is a complete version and no DEMO. For that,
if you like it, you should send some money to the author to make him do
these things again in the future!
───────────────────────────=≡ The required hardware ≡=──────────────────────────
BrainStorm needs
- a PC XT/AT or compatible
- about 250 KB diskspace
- about 200 KB free memory
- a VGA/MCGA graphics card
- a mouse and a Microsoft-compatible driver

* The idea *
BrainStorm is a puzzle game for one player, and it's about tiles, colors
and different gravities.
Your job in each of the 120 (!) levels is to make all of the tiles
disappear. Every tile has got a colored arrow that shows the direction
the tile will fall if nothing stops it.
These tiles can be moved, but not against there gravity direction. That
means, you can push them either left and right, or up and down. You can
not "lift" them up.
Tiles will fall down until something (a wall, another tile etc.) stops
them.
Now, the tiles will disappear when ALL of them are connected. A tile is
"connected" when it touches another tile of THE SAME COLOR.
The level is completed when no tiles are left. After doing this you get
a password to restart at this level the next time you play.
Well, sounds easy? So we should tell you that more things will appear
in the levels:
-colored arrows in the background will change the color of every tile that
slides on them (and, of course, the GRAVITY is also changed!)
-rotating arrows change the gravity of a tile by 90°
-transporters push a tile into their direction, not recognizing the tile's
gravity
-doors move a tile to another door in the level
There are LOADS of things to discover...so be prepared to face a new
challenge in almost every new level!
* The controls *
click on a tile and pull it into the direction you want, while holding
the left mouse button.
You can cancel a level anytime by pressing <ESC> and retry it as often as
you want.
Click the right mouse button to PAUSE the game.
* Title menu *
F1: Start the current level (level 1 when the program just launched)
F2: Enter a password to jump into a different level
F3: Change scenery. The game is parted into 6 sceneries with 20 levels
each. Every scenery has got its own graphical outfit.
By pressing <F1>-<F6> you can choose the first level of the six
sceneries, i.e. 1,21,41,61,81,101.
In other words, if you're kind of a puzzle maniac, you can start
with level 101 ("Mad World" scenery)
ESC: Quit game (boohoo)
