  15. Installation
  16. ============

  18.     To install Amazeing 5, follow these steps:
  19.

  21.     Windows 3.1:
  22.     1) Copy all files to one directory, for example
  23.        C:\WINDOWS\GAMES\AMAZEING. 
  24.     2) Copy CTL3D.DLL to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory
  25.        if you wish. (Makes it accessible for any other
  26.        programs you might get that need it.)
  27.     3) Select the program group where you want to put
  28.        Amazeing. 
  29.     3) Choose "New" from the "File" menu in Program Manager
  30.        and select "Program Item".
  31.     4) Enter the program name "Amazeing", and path to
  32.        AMAZEING.EXE. For the previous example, this is
  33.        "C:\WINDOWS\GAMES\AMAZEING\AMAZEING.EXE". (Leave
  34.        out the quotes.)
  35.     5) Click Ok, and you'll see the icon appear.

  37.     Windows 95:
  38.     1) Copy all files to one directory, for example
  39.        C:\WINDOWS\GAMES\AMAZEING. 
  40.     2) Copy CTL3D.DLL to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory
  41.        if you wish. (Makes it accessible for any other
  42.        programs you might get that need it.)
  43.     3) Choose "Taskbar" from the "Settings" menu
  44.            found by clicking the "Start" button. Alternatively
  45.            click the right mouse button on the taskbar and
  46.            select "Properties..."
  47.         4) Click the "Start menu programs" tab at the top
  48.        of the dialog box that appears, then click the 
  49.        "Add..." button.
  50.         5) Enter similar details as step 4 for Windows 3.1.
  51.            Click the "Next" button, select the menu where you
  52.            want Amazeing to appear and click "Next" again.
  53.            Then type the name "Amazeing 5" and click "Finish."

  56. Special Notes and Requirements
  57. ==============================

  59.     Amazeing 5 requires Windows 3.1 or above, and a colour
  60. display device, preferably a 256 colour one. Other than that,
  61. it should run on just about any machine. However, the faster
  62. the better, and to get a decent game play speed, you should
  63. use a 486 DX/66 with an accelerated video card.

  65.     If the bitmap animation is too slow for your video card 
  66. (that is, the special way the larger bitmaps are displayed, 
  67. such as the Happy Puppy screen), manually edit AMAZEING.INI and
  68. change the value of the "AnimateBigBitmaps" line from "1" to "0".
