THIS FLIGHT MODEL WAS DEVELOPED BY HANS VANWYHE
AND FLIGHT TESTED BY AN MD-11 PILOT FOR
ACCURACY AND FEEL.
HANS REPORTS THAT THIS COLLABORATION WAS VERY
SUCCESSFULL, PRODUCING A HIGHLY REALISTIC REF
FILE...AT LEAST WITHIN THE PREDEFINED LIMITS OF
FS4!
STEERING IS PERFECT, LEVEL FLIGHT AT FL 420 AT 530
KNOTS IS GREAT, APART FROM A LITTLE PORPOISING. THIS
BEHAVIOUR IS DUE TO THE FACT THAT FS4 IS CALCULATING
WITH INTEGERS, RATHER THAN WITH FLOATING POINT.
AT LOW SPEED, THE FLIGHT MODEL IS BEHAVING EXACTLY AS
IS SHOULD. TO LAND THE L1011, YOU NEED FULL FLAPS AND
A SPEED AROUND 155 KNOTS. WHEN APPROACHING A RUNWAY,
LOWER YOUR GEAR AT ABOUT 11 MILES OUT, SPEED AROUND
190, THEN AT SPEED 170 LOWER FLAPS TO 5, GIVE A LITTLE
THROTTLE, SET FLAPS ACCORDINGLY AND BRING HER IN
SMOOTHLY. AT 20FT, FLARE OFF AND CUT THROTTLE TO LAND
THE BIRD. THIS ONE SEEMS TO HAVE A DIMINISHED
NOSEWHEEL BOUNCE AS WELL.

I HAVE HAD WITH IT.
