27 February, 1993 F-105G Military Jet by Butch Harrell
The F-105 "Thunderchief" was developed by Republic Aviation during the late
1950's as a supersonic fighter-bomber. The F-105 achieved fame during the
air war over Southeast Asia in the mid-60's.
This model depicts the F-105/G "Wild Weasel." Based on the 2-place version
of the "Thunderchief", this aircraft was developed to locate and destroy
North Vietnamese SAM (surface-to-air missile) sites.
Special model features: Jet nozzle (exhaust) glows when power is applied.
Fore and aft canopies are open below 25 Kts.
Jet nozzle "speed brakes" open when flaps are ex-
tended.
Tail hook lowers when landing gear goes down.
Flying Notes: This model is the easiest flying jet I've designed and sticks
to the carrier deck very well.
Let me know if you would like the AFX file.
Enjoy flying!
