  66.         Gee, $29... why so much? The DoomWare Developers Network CD
  67.         represents thousands of dollars invested, and simply the most
  68.         complete Doom world shareware collection. We spent many, many 
  69.         hours searching for and grabbing the latest files on the 
  70.         internet and on premium on-line services. We spent many more 
  71.         hours sorting, cleaning, and organizing the disk. We also spent 
  72.         much time and money developing software to make the disk 
  73.         accessible, acquiring the merchant accounts, 1-800 numbers, 
  74.         order processing houses, production accounts, advertising 
  75.         materials, ad space, and permissions.

  77.         How come there are other DOOM shareware CD's out that are a 
  78.         lot cheaper? Here is the story. A long time ago one guy used
  79.         a WORM drive at work to make a CD of DOOM shareware stuff and
  80.         it was pretty good at the time. Later some other guy bought a
  81.         copy of it and re-released it under his name. Later yet another
  82.         guy bought a copy and re-released it... and on and on. It's the
  83.         same old stuff. Ours is complete from the beginning of time until
  84.         present, even has the latest DOOM II stuff.

  86.         Aren't you ripping of the authors? We made every effort to 
  87.         exclude files from authors who did not want to be included,
  88.         and contacted many to make sure they were cool with the whole
  89.         thing. We released our own software to the public domain, and
  90.         even recompressed the files so that PKZip wouldn't be abused.

  92.         Didn't you losers hog bandwidth with your massive downloading?
  93.         We spread the load across all of infant2's mirrors and accessed 
  94.         only during off-peak. Infant2 was our last stop and by then, we
  95.         had almost everything. Of course, we mercilessly hogged bandwidth
  96.         on pay-per-minute services like CompuServe and AOL.

  98.         Who the hell ARE you? CyTech CodeHouse is a loose aggregation of
  99.         serious programmers. We do mostly custom work for government
  100.         and private companies and play DOOM. We bought a couple doom
  101.         shareware collection CD's and they sucked... bad. They had really
  102.         old stuff, didn't make it easy to use, and shamelessly ripped off
  103.         authors who stated in their doc's that they didn't want to be part
  104.         of any CD collection. So we put our professional talents together 
  105.         to make the most complete, current, and professional Doom CD ever.
  106.         The one WE would like to see.

  108.         What about BBS? Is it BBS ready? Nope, we didn't have room on the
  109.         CD to make a BBS ready area. Other DOOM CD's have a BBS ready area
  110.         but we figured that you would rather have ALL the DOOM stuff rather
  111.         than half of it and a duplicate section just to expand the market.
  112.         If there is sufficient demand we might do a BBS only version.

  114.         How can you sell DOOM II at a discount? Easy we lose money on the
  115.         deal. It's just a convenience to you and to Id Software.

  117.         How can you do FREE shipping and handling? Also easy. Shipping and
  118.         handling are bogus ripoffs that companies use to sucker you in...
  119.         offer a price $2.00 lower than the competition but charge $5.00 for
  120.         shipping and handling. Shipping UPS ground is really cheap and 
  121.         handling is totally bogus. There are enough ripoffs around, we 
  122.         don't need to contribute.
