  1. Replacement for the BFG9000 sound.
  2.  
  3. This new sound has the BFG9000 energizing with a huge plasma energy bolt discharge.
  4. Totally cool!!!
  5.  
  6. Here is how to install...
  7.  
  8. 1. UnZip BFG9000.ZIP into your Doom folder. BFG9000.ZIP contains three files:

  10.     A. NEWBFG.WAV
  11.     B. DMAUD.EXE
  12.     C. NEWBFG.TXT
  13.  
  14. 2. From a DOS prompt, type:
  15.  
  16.     dmaud 51 -e oldbfg.wav        [RETURN]
  17.  
  18.     This extracts the original BFG9000 sound and stores it in OLDBFG.WAV file.
  19.  
  20. 3. Now type:
  21.  
  22.     dmaud 51 -s newbfg.wav -x    [RETURN]
  23.  
  24.     This stores the new BFG9000 sound into the DOOM.WAD.
  25.     Because NEWBFG.WAV is 3 tenths of a second longer than the original sound, the         "-x" switch is required to make NEWBFG.WAV fit into the DOOM.WAD properly,         however this does not harm your DOOM.WAD is any manner.

  27. To reinstall the original BFG9000 sound, type:

  29.     dmaud 51 -s oldbfg.wav
  30.  
  31. You may distribute BFG9000.ZIP freely but do not alter or sell it. Enjoy!
