HOW TO USE DOOMFRNT
=========================
If the user selects something that is not possible (like loading a game
and warping to a level at the same time) DOOMFRNT is smart enough to
know it's not possible, and will do only one of the options. So make
sure to look over your options before loading DOOM, as it may not
work with your setup.
Almost everything is self-explanatory. But there are a few options in the
Misc. Options area that some people may not understand. So below you
will find their explanations:
Respawn:
Monsters will become alive again, after you have killed them. (they
will keep reappearing).
No Monsters:
Just what it sounds like. No monsters on the levels. Good for
multiplayer games, or just learning the terrain before actually
going out and doing battle.
DeathMatch/Cooperative:
Only works when playing multiplayer, has no effect on a single
player game. In Deathmatch mode players will gain "FRAG"s for
killing each other. In addition, they can't see each other on
the overhead map, only on the battle screen. All keys are
in possession at the beginning.
Cooperative allows the players to help each other through the
levels. The other player will be seen on the overhead map (by
hitting TAB) and you may view the battle screen from their
viewpoint by hitting F12. Players must get the keys, and will
lose their individual keys when they die.
Record a Demo:
Makes a replay file of one level. Will stop when you either die
or win that level. If you die and want to save it, just press
the space bar and it will be saved (do NOT press ESC)
Play a Demo:
Plays a demo that you, or someone else made.
Warp To A Level:
For playing an exact level of an Episode. For example, if you
wanted to show your friend the end of "Knee Deep in the Dead"
then you would select level 8. Very useful for creating demos.
Level 8 is ALWAYS the end level, and level 9 is ALWAYS the
secret level.

MULTIPLAYER
=========================
Just a few suggestions in order to improve the amount of fun you
have when playing multiplayer.
For a really good battle between human opponents we found that
turning on DeathMatch, using skill "Not Too Rough" and turning
on Respawn was a blast. It allowed the players to fight each
other more, with less intervention by the monsters. But they
are still around to 'provide ammo' <Nasty Grin>.
In Cooperative, set it to Ultra-Violence and have a great time.
I tend to like fighting other humans more than getting along
with them, so don't play Cooperative too much <Evil Grin>
The best episode for multiplayer games seems to be the
shareware "Knee Deep in the Dead". The other episodes slow
down a bit (due to their openness) and just don't seem
as fun due to their less logical layout.
Good luck to you multiplayer people! It's a battle out there
and is a HECK of a lot more fun than just single player.
Players that are adept at keyboard use tend to have
an advantage over mouse and joystick players, so practice
hammering on those keys <grin> (just kidding, don't go
around breaking keyboards and blaming it on me)
=========================
DISTRIBUTION REQUIREMENTS
=========================
I'd greatly appreciate it if you could upload the shareware version to any
and ALL BBS's that you call. DMFRNT must be in it's original archive with all
files within it.
=========================
REGISTRATION
=========================
Please print out REGISTER.FRM and mail it to me. The address is on
the form. The registration is essentially free, but I will accept
any donations. I'm a starving college student and could use any
money I can get <grin>. Remember to include a self-addressed
stamped envelope so that I can mail back your registration
number. Donations will ecourage me to further develop this
and other products, in the future I hope to support Network DOOM!

CREDITS
=========================
Much credit must be given to the great guys at Id Software that
have given us the best game to be seen on MS-DOS machines ever!
They worked long and hard to create a wonderful program, with
remarkably few glitches even on it's first release. I highly
recommend that everyone who plays DOOM, register it so that Id
Software will have a lot of incentive to keep producing such
wonderful games and creating such gorgeous 3-d virtual
worlds.
Also, thanks to my beta testers for working with me to iron
out many bugs. You did a wonderful job, and kept me striving
towards a bug free product.
