  1. "THE BEST" series of deathmatches

  4. By downloading any or all of "The Best" files, you are doing yourself
  5. and all those around you a favour. If you are in to deathmatching, these
  6. are files you won't want to be without. 
  7.

  10. What can make these files so important? well firstly, they are small, all
  11. of them are small. They don't take up much hard drive space and they don't
  12. take forever to download. Secondly, they contain:
  13.  
  14.     THE best deathmatch levels to date.
  15.     Recorded deathmatches of two of the world's greatest players.
  16.     The most INTENSIVE matches you'll ever see.
  17.     A Tip file on making superb deathmatch levels.
  18.     A tip file on tactics.

  22. So who are these people who think are they are so good?
  23.  
  24. Dario and Milo Casali. If you know anything about TNT - the overhaul
  25. of Doom2 due out in a few weeks, you will know us - we are major
  26. contributers and have been the fuel for many debates over tactics,
  27. level design and creation and generally sought after for demos.
  28.  
  29. So we thought we'd record some cracking demos in our best deathmatch 
  30. levels, then upload them individually, with the level included. As
  31. all our best DM levels are small, this amounts to only 30k average size.

  35. So what files are available?
  36.  
  37. Well, this will obviously be open ended - but initially we will make 
  38. six of the best:
  39.  
  40.     THEBEST1.ZIP ----->  THEBEST6.ZIP
  41.  
  42. These will contain, in our opinion, the best deathmatch levels you will
  43. see. They are all a particular style. Skill 5 Old deathmatch. This means
  44. one of each type of weapon (unless a particular weapon is NOT suitable)
  45. and no running for health. because once it's gone - it's gone. We 
  46. demonstrate in our demos that this is no problem, we sometimes take several
  47. frags whilst at low health levels.

  49. We have made other deathmatch levels for the altdeath game, but these are 
  50. larger, so are residing at our internet homepage:

  56. The level designing tips were collated from not just ourselves, but
  57. from editors all over the world, so we believe they reflect the views
  58. and opinions of a lot of doom players, so take note well and I hope
  59. you go on to produce some great work from it!
