  4.               YO, FORGET what you know about deathmatch.

  6. What is DEATHTAG?
  7. ==================

  9. DEATHTAG is a whole new approach to playing multiplayer Doom.
  10. In the past, the purpose was to have as many frags as possible.
  11. Deathtag offers a new purpose for two-on-two Doom II play, to
  12. invade the opposing fort, reach a switch, and escape alive.
  13. Like "Capture the Flag" games.

  15. How do you play?

  18. Playing SCHOOL is very simple.  Please read these, for they differ from
  19. DETHTAG.WAD
  20.  
  21. 1)  There are two teams, a blue team and a red team.  Each team has their
  22.     own fort.  (Green/Indigo = Blue Team, Brown/Red = Red Team)
  23.  
  24. 2)  The objective:  In the school, there is a sand house to the north and south
  25.     where a switch is that you must reach for your team.  In the other sand
  26.     house, your partner will be awaiting the door to open to access a
  27.     radiation suit. Each sand house will be surrounded by lights and torches
  28.     for YOUR team' color.  THE PERSON WHO GOES FOR THE SWITCH MUST ENTER
  29.     THE OPPOSSING TEAM'S SAND HOUSE.  THE PERSON WAITING FOR THE RAD-SUIT
  30.     MUST WAIT AT HIS TEAM'S SAND HOUSE.  it will be simple when you play.

  32. 3)  The radiation suit is needed because your team will then have to jet
  33.     through a long run way  to reach a scoring switch.  You can only get one
  34.     point per suit, and make sure you don't miss that switch when you get
  35.     to it (better be slamming on that spacebar once you start getting close).
  36.     I AM SERIOUS!! or at LEAST have good timing like me.. no second chances.
  37.     you'll have to do the process all over again.. and your partner will
  38.     be ...well.. you know..

  40. 4)  Once your team has scored FIVE points (there are colored posts raised
  41.     in the sand houses, hall way and starting point indicating each team's score)
  42.     your team will THEN have access to the exit in the class room! Now remember,
  43.     only 1 color can use the exit, if the other color crosses the exit,
  44.     they lose anyway.. Note:  You can ONLY take the suit out of your own Sand
  45.     House. Again i will say this, because so many will be confused.. The blue
  46.     team gets their suit out of the blue sand house, the red team gets their
  47.     suit out of the red sand house.  Obtaining the suit out of the opponents
  48.     fort will not help you to score a point.  it will just delay your scoring
  49.     and possibly aid them in getting the point, also much confusion will
  50.     run rampant between you and your partner..

  52. 5)  Just in case, when you enter the school, you will notice a long, scary
  53.     hallway, that will cause pain as you enter.. that my friend, is where
  54.     you will run for the point..

  56. 6)  Teleports:  When you first start, you will see colored teleports.  Going 
  57.     into the blue will face you to the blue side of the school, and
  58.     going into the red will facee you to the red side of the school.

  60. 7)  Reset Switch:  The switch with -NO- label at the back of the class room
  61.     doesn't take you to the next level, it starts the same SCHOOL level AGAIN
  62.     without having to exit and setup another game on your server.  This comes
  63.     in handy because usually one day at School is just is not enough.  Also,
  64.     if you DO  switch the switch marked -EXIT-, you will be taken to level 2
  65.     which is exactly the same as 1, but with a different song, just in case
  66.     you get sick of the funny school tune i selected and want to bang your
  67.     head to.. well.. you'll see.. (unless you read all the txts)

  69. 8)  How can you see the score?   You count the score based on the number of
  70.     poles raised out of the ground.  There are several places you can find 
  71.     these poles: i've mentioned them before.. look up. also, when your
  72.     team crosses the finnish line, a secret window will appear in the
  73.     class room showing which team won.. i know.. stupid.. but cute :)

  75. 0?> if you REALLY dont know what the HELL.. go in the class room and
  76.     try to learn something.. I strongly recomend getting DETHTAG.WAD
  77.     before using this level.. it is more easy to learn..
