Clint Black is one of the longest established member of 'The Hat Pack', so named because of their prediliction for wearing stetsons, and with the possible exception of Garth Brooks is probably one of the best known to the public at large.
A songwriter of some repute, Clint has written for and alongside some of the best known names in
country and is one of the more exciting prospects thown up by the genre over the last few years. More traditional in his out look than a lot of the new country artists, Clint has none the less managed to stamp his personality over his songs and because of that his is some of the easiest material to recognise, there is something about a Clint Black performed song that makes it his.
"One Emotion" is almost a concept album as most of the songs have some sort of love angle to them though not always in the conventional man woman sense, there are times where it comes across as being as much about places as people.
One of the most interesting tracks on the album sees Clint teaming up with Wynonna (Judd) on "A Bad Goodbye" neatly positioned at the end of the album and an opportunity to remind us if we didn't need reminding as to what an under recognised talent Wynonna is.
"One Emotion" features Clint Black at his best and comes warmly recommended.
