  1. Installation
  2. ------------
  3. To INSTALL Visual Calendar Planner, you need a file called VBRUN300.DLL in 
  4. your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. This file is common to many windows 
  5. applications, so I decided not to include it. 
  6.  
  7. If you don't have VBRUN300.DLL, you can get a copy from the following sites:
  8. 1. CompuServe: GO WINSHARE forum, lib #10, filename-VBRUN3.ZIP
  9. 2. Internet: ftp.cica.indiana.edu, pub/pc/win3/util, filename-VBRUN300.EXE
  10. 3. BBS: Most major Bulletin Board Services (BBS) in your town or city do 
  11. carry the file VBRUN300.ZIP or VBRUN3.ZIP or VBRUN300.EXE, search arround 
  12. for a while. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

  14. After the required steps mentioned above taken by you, run INSTALL.EXE
  15.  
  16.  
  17. Known Problems or Frequently Encountered Problems
  18. -------------------------------------------------
  19. 1. If you encounter any problem installing Visual Calendar Planner, 
  20. for example, some messages telling you "CTL3DV2.DLL is in use" or "xxxx.VBX 
  21. is in use", exit the installation process and restart Microsoft Windows. 
  22. This will give you a clean bootup with no conflict with other files 
  23. currently being used.

  26. 2. If you are running Windows 3.1 or Windows 3.11, please make sure
  27. the following line is present in your CONFIG.SYS:
  28.  
  29. INSTALL=C:\DOS\SHARE.EXE /F:4096 /L:25
  30.  
  31. The above-mentioned line is not needed if VSHARE.386 is loaded or if
  32. you are running under
  33. a. Windows for Workgroups 3.11
  34. b. Windows 95
  35. c. Windows NT

  38. 3. THREED.VBX causes conflicts with different versions. For various reasons,
  39. I did not copy THREED.VBX to \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. If you come across
  40. complains from THREED.VBX, take the following measures:
  41.  
  42. a. Rename the file THREED.VBX to THREED.OLD in your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM
  43.    directory
  44. b. Copy the file THREED.VBX which resides in \3DVCP31 (or the directory where
  45.    Visual Calendar Planner resides) to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory
  46. c. Restart windows and the problem should go away

  49. 4. Sometimes the calendar will look wierd with some shadows of white and
  50. gray. The problem is related to (3) again. Please follow the instructions
  51. mentioned above.

  54. 5. If the program complains that "MSAJT112.DLL is missing" or "MSAJT200.DLL
  55. is missing", please make sure in your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory the
  56. date of the following files:

  58. MSAJT110.DLL    Size: 710,752 bytes    Date: May-20-93
  59. MSAES110.DLL    Size: 33,280  bytes    Date: Apr-28-93
  60. VBDB300.DLL     Size: 95,200  bytes    Date: Apr-28-93
  61.  
  62. If any of the files in your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory does not match
  63. the above-mentioned date or size, please copy ALL the above-mentioned
  64. files to your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory irregardless of the presence
  65. of a newer date or version's file.
