  6. Description
  7. -----------
  8. FinePrint is a printer driver for Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me,
  9. Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, and Windows XP.  FinePrint prints any
  10. multi-page document onto fewer sheets of paper by printing 1, 2, 4, or
  11. 8 document pages onto each physical sheet of paper, while maintaining
  12. document integrity and clarity.  FinePrint also allows you to customize
  13. your printouts by adding headers, footers, and watermarks to your pages.

  78. Installing
  79. ----------
  80. To install FinePrint, run the program FPxxx.EXE (Windows 95/98/Me) or
  81. FPNTxxx.EXE (Windows NT/2000/XP), where "xxx" is the FinePrint version
  82. number.  Then follow the onscreen instructions.

  85. Uninstalling
  86. ------------
  87. In the Start menu, open the Programs folder, then open the FinePrint 2000
  88. folder and select "Uninstall FinePrint."  You may also uninstall FinePrint
  89. in the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs applet.

  640. Setting Default Paper Size
  641. --------------------------
  642. In many countries the default paper size is A4.  It is possible to set
  643. FinePrint to always use this or other supported sizes by default.  In
  644. the Start menu, open the Settings Printers folder, then right-click on
  645. the FinePrint Driver and select one of the following commands:
  646.  
  647. - Properties (Windows 95/98/Me)
  648. - Document Defaults (Windows NT)
  649. - Printing Preferences (Windows 2000/XP)
  650.     
  651. This will present you with a list of choices, and you can select A4 or
  652. any other supported paper size as the default.

  655. FinePrint Dispatcher
  656. --------------------
  657. The FinePrint Dispatcher is a program that runs in the background and
  658. manages the flow of print jobs within FinePrint.  The Dispatcher must
  659. be running in order for FinePrint to operate.  If you ever get an error
  660. message about "Could not locate the FinePrint Dispatcher", you can try
  661. re-launching it from the FinePrint program group in the Start menu.  Or,
  662. you can reboot your computer, since the Dispatcher is launched upon
  663. startup.

  666. Registration
  667. ------------
  668. You have downloaded a trial version of FinePrint. If you decide to
  669. use it, registration to the full version costs $39.95. The
  670. registration mechanism we use allows payment by check, credit card,
  671. and electronic payment.  When payment is received, you will be sent a
  672. registration key which you then enter into FinePrint.  Once you have
  673. registered by entering your key, two things will happen:
  674.  
  675. 1. The "unregistered" message printed on each page will be removed
  676. 2. The page limit will be removed
  677.  
  678. Registering entitles you to receive free maintenance upgrades of
  679. FinePrint.  Major new releases will be made available to registered
  680. users at a substantial discount.

  682. To register, click the Register tab in the FinePrint window and
  683. then click the Order Form button to fill out an order form.  You can
  684. also click the Register Online button to connect to our registration
  685. page.

  687. After you have registered and receive the serial number, enter it along
  688. with your name in the spaces provided.
