  1. Å  DPatch/DongleKey ù This program was on the Archive 7.9 Program Disc
  2. to unlock Impression/Artworks dongles which otherwise can prevent
  3. printing taking place.

  5. If all CC dongles are removed from a machine, DPatch must be deleted
  6. from the !Boot file. Without a dongle fitted, DPatch will cause all
  7. printer output to be corrupted. I discovered this when transferring
  8. Publisher and Artworks from A5000 to Risc PC and attempting to set up
  9. the A5000 with a Star XB24-10. The Risc PC does not need the patch to
  10. allow printing to go ahead in the absence of Publisher or Artworks. S

  13. Å  Garbled *Screensave: This is a cross between a bug-report and a note
  14. saying, öIf this happens to you, youære not going madò. Iæve just
  15. started using !Quickshow, a neat little slide-show utility from DeskTop
  16. Projects. When it saved a completed screen to disc, it seemed to write a
  17. garbled sprite, with blocks of the sprite moved around internally.
  18. Examining the code showed that the program simply displays the sprite on
  19. screen and then does a *Screensave to write the sprite to disc.
  20. Furthermore, the corrupting of the sprite didnæt occur when I wrote to
  21. floppy rather than to my hard disc. Writing a one-line Basic program to
  22. perform a screen dump replicated the bug absolutely consistently, and
  23. only in mode 15. I conclude that, on my A310, RISC OS 3.10, with version
  24. 1.16 of the Oak SCSI software, with a 270Mb Quantum drive, in mode 15,
  25. *SCREENSAVE to the hard disc has a bug ù somewhere! I donæt know what to
  26. suspect, but if you ever encounter garbled sprites, donæt blame the
  27. application ù or tear your hair out!á Stuart Bell, Horsham.

  29. Å  Tablemate warning Ö Unless your table is small, DO NOT type your data
  30. directly into Tablemate. Instead, type it into a CSV file using Edit and
  31. import that. I have two tables several pages long and did not import the
  32. text. As a result the only way I can now edit them is by exporting
