  1. Chapter One.
  2.  a) All nouns in French are either masculine or feminine.
  3.     There is no definite rule for telling which is which.
  4.     Learn each noun with its le or la; it helps if you 
  5.     make an imaginary association with a man,woman,boy or 
  6.     girl.Eg:- le mur = the wall;  (Imagine a man building a
  7.                                    wall, because mur is a
  8.                                    masculine word)
  9.               la porte = the door;(Imagine your girlfriend
  10.                                    coming through the door!)
