Further to your requset in Archive the Genesis
application !Problems has some things that I can
not get to work and some definite bugs.
At school I have found it helpful if Genesis
applications can chain each other but unfortunately
the browswer tends to hang the machines if more than
one copy is running at once so the Chaining directory
demonstrates my solution.
I have also found it useful
to add
IF "<Browser$Running>"=1 THEN Error 0 You can't run two copies of Browser. Use the icon bar Browser icon menu to quit.
to the start of the Browser !Run file and alter the
last few lines of the !Run file to
SET Browser$Running 1
RUN <Obey$Dir>.!RunImage %*0
UNSET Browser$Running
As I mention in !Problems the supplied SaveBox template
does not have an indirected sprite and the replacment
enclosed remedies this.
The two applications in the Tutorials directory are ones
I use with year 7 pupils but are customised to my set up
(Nexus application servers and Econet for pupil data) and
assume a Mode 35 screen, our customised icon bar, our
in house menu system 'ArcMenu' and Welcome screen so are of
limited use to the Swap Shop but might provide some ideas
for others. On many of the pages there is a delay or the
correct action is necessary before the 'next' icon appears.
Keep up the good work for Archive, your articles are most
appreciated.
