  40. !AiEps-Drw is a Utility for converting Adobe Illustrator Documents
  41. ( Encapsulated Postscript ) to Draw
  42.  
  43. This version supports AI format version 2 it is hoped to support 
  44. Version 3 in the future

  48. Installation
  49. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  50. The AiEps-Drw arc file should have been restored to a directory named
  51. !AiEps-Drw. Which should contain the following files :-

  54.            !Run        : AiEps-Drw Startup file.
  55.            !Sprites    : AiEps-Drw Application Sprites
  56.            Templates   : Template files
  57.            AiEpsDraw   : AiEps-Drw Application.
  58.            Palette     : Default conversion palette.
  59.            ~~config    : Configuration file for AiEps-Drw.
  60.            !Help       : This file.

  62. Tailoring.
  63. ~~~~~~~~~~

  65.     The !run file should be altered to suite your requirements :-
  66.  
  67.  
  68.     Modules required :-
  69.  
  70.        The Shared C Library should be loaded as appropriate for
  71.        your setup. The supplied !run file assumes that the C
  72.        shared library module is in !system.modules.
  73.  
  74.        The Floating Point Emulator should be loaded as appropriate for
  75.        your setup. The supplied !run file assumes that the FPEmulator
  76.        module is in !system.modules.  
  77.                        
  78.     Variables required :-
  79.  
  80.        AiEpsDraw$Drw is required in order for AiEps-Drw to find its various
  81.        configuration files.

  83.     Storage required :-
  84.  
  85.        !AiEps-Drw has been tested with a wimpslot size of 128k
  86.        on a machine with 32k pages. lower values may be possible
  87.        on machines with smaller page sizes.
  88.  
  89.        The file to be converted is loaded into a buffer claimed from
  90.        the next slot. The space is return immediately after the conversion,
  91.        so you should not be able to see the change.
  92.        
  93.        If !AiEps-Drw  prompts that it does not have enough memory to process, 
  94.        then !AiEps-Drw must be restarted, having made provision that 
  95.        the next slot is large enough.

  97. Operation.
  98. ~~~~~~~~~~

  100.      1) First click on the !AiEps-Drw icon. This will install the !AiEps-Drw
  101.         icon on the icon bar.
  102.  
  103.      2) To convert an AI file, drag the file to the !AiEps-Drw icon on
  104.         the icon bar. This will popup a save Draw window. Drag the Draw
  105.         file icon to the required destination.

  107. Control Options

  111.       -----------

  113.       Rather than have !AiEps-Drw prompt for the target file, it is possible
  114.       to set a default path and have the target name created as default path
  115.       plus filename. To do this you drag the Draw file icon to the target directory
  116.       or application and set the Direct option. With the direct option set the
  117.       output Draw file will automatically be created.
  118.  
  119.       Note if you use this option sensibly with an application then the receiving
  120.       application must support the Draw file type.

  130.       Only Draw function available to Risc OS 2 is supported. Support of Risc OS
  131.       version 3 related function is subject to availability of RiscOS 3 and PRMS.

  143.   This controls conversion of Draw fonts to Postscript fonts, the
  144.   format is

  146.     n  : draw font names, terminated by ##
  147.  
  148.   Followed by Poscript font names of the format
  149.  
  150.      /{name} {draw font index}
  151.  
  152.   Where /{name} is the postscript name and
  153.   draw font index is the index into equivalent
  154.   preceding draw fonts
