SAsm Front End
--==============--
Version 1.20 (24th July 1993)
Copyright ⌐ 1993 A. M. Pereira
Copyright notice:
This program is Freeware. It may be freely distibuted under the following conditions:
- No files are altered in any way
- You don't claim to have written any part of the code
- You give me full credit for any parts which you do use
(and send me a copy of your program before release)
- You *don't* upload it to TWoC, Arcade or The Digital Databank
(I wrote it, so I should get the download credits, ok?)
- PD Libraries don't distribute it without my permission.
Current PD Libraries with my permission are:
The DataFile PD,
71 Anson Road, Locking, Weston-Super-Mare, Avon, BS24 7DQ
APDL,
39 Knighton Park Road, Sydenham, London SE26 5RN
(After all David Holden did write SAsm...)
If your PD Library wants to distribute it then send me a
catalogue. Unless I have something against you, I will probably
allow you to distribute in return for a disc from your catalogue.
Using SAsm friend
=================
This program *should* work under RISC OS 2 and 3.1, but has only been
tested on the latter. It is loaded in the canonical way, and sits at the
bar (as good a place as any ;-), waiting for you to do something (like
bring it a beer).
Basically, you have three choices:
1. Quit it. Not really very exciting, but I can just see some Arcaders
(who will remain nameless) getting hours of fun out of loading and
quitting it.
2. Change some options. This is done from the Options window. The options are:
- SAsm load path. Leave this empty if you're using the module version, or it
is in your library (which probably has Run$Path set up to point to it)
- Change the library path name. Until David sorts out MakeLib I'd advise
against using this...
- Set Errors filename, Log filename and Image filename. If any of these
fields are blank, then no file will be produced.
- Set the various SAsm options. Read the SAsm manual for more info.
3. Give it some files to assemble. You can either drag Text files onto
the icon, which will add them to the list of files to assemble (and open
the source files list window) or drag a directory, which will add all
the files in the directory to the list. When you are ready to assemble
click on the Assemble button in the source list window. If you
carelessly close the window, it can be opened again by clicking with
Select on the iconbar icon. The Clear button clears the list.
Please note that this application supports the new 3D style bit in CMOS
Ram. So, if you're using RISC OS 3.1 and your icons are all flat and
RISC OS 2ish, then you should type *fx 162,140,1 If only Acorn's
applications bothered...
Under RISC OS 2, the caret won't move properly between writeable icons
in the options window. This is tough luck. Buy an upgrade.
Umm, I think that's just about it.

If you can draw pretty pictures on an Arc then WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.
If you can make nice music on an Arc then WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.
Thanks to
=========
Tim Browse - for writing Glazier. (Fixed those bugs yet?)
Guttorm Vik - for writing StrongEd
David Holden - for writing SAsm
John Stonier - for running Digital Databank
Daves Coleman & Dade - for running Arcade
Dave McCartney - for not being serious about thinking I had an Am*ga
4 Non-blondes - for an incredibly appropriate song - "What's going on?"
Cy Booker - for writing an amazing Basic Compressor which I found
*after* I squished the program by hand. (I'll have to register
it when I get ú10, then I won't have to spend 1.5 hours
squishing the next release...)
Last minute note: Do you have any of the following singles?
Sophie B. Hawkins - Damn, I wish I was your lover
?? - Beaten up in love
Praise - Only you
U2 - Where the streets have no name
- Mysterious ways
Deborah Blando - Any song (except Innocence which I already have)
Frente - Any song (except Ordinary Angels which I already have)
Yothu Yindi - Any song (except Djapana which I already have)
Luchy Lou (sp?) - Shout (NOT the Lulu version, please)
If so, *please* send them to me. This will entitle you to Level 1
registration of my next major shareware program when it's finished. More
details come with it. (An album by any of those artists gives you level 2).
