ReadMe file for FontSelect
v1.02
FontSelect allows you to handle a huge font library in a
proper way. As more and more font becoming available, and
many applications can't handle the amount of fonts, there
should be an easy way to determine which group(s) of fonts
you want to be visible to the applications. To do this,
create directories in the !Fonts directory with meaningfull
names (e.g. 'Acorn' for the fonts you gat together with your
machien, 'Heading' for fonts which can be used as header
fonts etc.) and move (SHIFT-drag) the fonts into these.
At the end the !Fonts directory should conatin:
!Boot
!Run
!Sprites
CheckDkTp
Fonts
FontSelect
Super
<new directies>
Now, whenever you double click on the !Fonts directory,
FontSelect will be run, and open a window from which you can
make a selection of the font 'groups' you want to use. The
groups which where already selected (read: where part of the
'Font$Path' variable), will be ticked. By clicking MENU
while the pointer is over the window, you'll be presented by
a menu. This menu contains the useual 'Info' & 'Quit'
option. It also contains the 'Save setup' options. This
options will save the current selected groups, so the next
time you startup (power-on) the selected groups will be
known again. This is done be recreating the !Boot file (have
a look at it).
INSTALLATION
FontSelect itself (the module) should be put in the !Fonts
directory, together with the !Boot, !Run and CheckDkTp file.
DISTRIBUTION
You're free to give this software to anyone you like,
aslong as you give them all (FontSelect, !Boot, !Run,
CheckDkTp, FontSelDoc) and UNCHANGED !!!
