  1. RasMol 2.6 / RISC OS 1.10 (02-Apr-96)

  3. This application has been ported from the original X11 version of RasMol
  4. which is Copyright ⌐ 1992-94 by Roger Sayle. The implementation of the
  5. RISC OS specific features is ⌐ 1996 by Martin Wⁿrthner.

  7. RasMol is a molecular graphics program intended for the visualisation of
  8. proteins, nucleic acids and small molecules. The program is aimed at
  9. display, teaching and generation of publication quality images.
  10.  
  11. For further information about RasMol and the RISC OS port in particular,
  12. see the '!Help' file inside the '!RasMol' directory. The command line is
  13. explained in the file 'HelpFile' inside the '!RasMol' directory.

  15. The directory 'data' contains some sample molecules and scripts. '1crn'
  16. and '3cro' are two proteins from the Brookhaven Protein Databank,
  17. 'aspirin' and 'atropine' are Alchemy files.

  19. Script1 displays the 1crn molecule in a space filling representation
  20. with specular highlights. Script2 displays the aspirin molecule using
  21. more advanced features e.g. displaying the Van der Waals dot surface and
  22. atom labelling.

  24. The script 'Rotate' rotates the currently loaded moleucle by 90 degrees
  25. in steps of 10 degrees.
