THE FULL COLLECTION OF VERBS DESCRIBED BELOW IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO
REGISTERED USERS. THE FILE 'STANDARD' IS INCLUDED HERE TO SHOW YOU
VERBMASTER'S CAPABILITIES.

V E R B M A S T E R
GERMAN MODULE
by and (c) Nigel Caplan 1995.
These are the VerbFiles supplied in the GermanVerb directory:
>Basic - a few very basic verbs, intended for beginners or for producing
verb tables for a new tense.
>Standard - some standard verbs, which most students after a few years'
study (at school, less for mature students!) should be familiar
with. Includes the verbs in 'Basic'. I think this would be a
firm base for GCSE students.
>Advanced - more advanced verbs, some more difficult conjugations; roughly
corresponds to the highest levels at GCSE, and a minimum standard
for 'A'-Level if the Subjunctive is turned on.
>RareVerbs - these are for real stars! This file contains all the irregular
verbs not in the above files, and which you may never need to
use! Candidates applying to Oxbridge, though, may come across
these - they like trying to catch you out!
>Modals - the modal verbs. See !GerHelp under Printing Verb Tables for more
details.
(TOTAL VERBS: 147)
(The files Standard + Advanced + RareVerbs contain ALL irregular German verbs
- this obviously is excepting separable and inseparable variants, which
conjugate the same as their base verb.)
[PLEASE NOTE that the above descriptions of the levels of attainment
required for various examinations are approximate and should not be taken
as gospel truth.]
If you do create any new VerbFiles, please let me have a copy. My address
is in the help manual, VMGerman.
Thanks.
