Archive monthly program disc volume 9 issue 9
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
!ArcFS : Due to popular demand we have changed
over to ArcFS for the distribution of
compressed material. ArcFS provides a
faster and more Filer-like access to
archives than SparkPlug. Thanks to
Mark Smith for his permission.
N.B. SparkPlug should not be regarded
as representative of the full SparkFS,
which is an excellent utility that
allows proper image filing system
access to all number of foreign
archive formats such as Tar, Zip,
McStuffit, ARJ, PackdDir and also
converts ASCII armoured encodings
such as UUencode, BtoA, FCET, Boo.
Basic : Ray Favre's Starting Basic, p.72.
Campbell : Simple HTML program from Graham Campbell.
Clippings : Acorn news items from the net.
FactFile : Up-to-date Archive Factfile.
Gerald : Files from Gerald Fitton's column, p.23.
Nottingham : Colour charts from Jim Nottingham, p.46,
and Portfolio 'blank slide' backdrop, p.43.
VerbMaster : Shareware software from Nigel Caplan, p.78.
Walsh : Eureka spreadsheet for AAA calculations by Dave Walsh.
Woodthorpe : WebCIS for PocketBook from John Woodthorpe, p.55.
N.B. These archives are in ZIP format and ArcFS will
give an error when you try to access them. SparkPlug
is provided for this purpose. (See the '!Note' file.)
Wuerthner : !XChars from Martin Wⁿrthner.
About archives
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Much of the material on this disc is compressed
into files called 'archives'. These archives look
and behave like directories, except that you will
need to run !ArcFS (provided) to access them. If
you have any problems, try copying the contents of
the archive to your hard disc or another floppy
disc, and then run it from there.
