  3.                       TO USE THE PROGRAM

  6.     1. Run your file archiver if you have one.
  7.     2. Run the program, it will appear on the icon bar!
  8.     3. From the icon bar menu select 'Options'
  9.     4. Make sure the options are set up correctly
  10.        see below.
  11.     5. Click SELECT over the icon on the icon bar.
  12.     6. Type in the phrase to search for in the 'Find' window.
  13.     7. Drag files or directories onto the window.
  14.     7. Press Pause and Abort just to see what they do!
  15.     8. Either watch the files being searched for you or
  16.        carry on with something else as it multitasks.
  17.     9. Send fan mail, comments, registration money 
  18.        (Charity Donation of ú5) to:

  30.                        FIND WINDOW
  31.     =======================================================
  32.     
  33.     Click Select on the icon bar icon to open the window
  34.     The find window allows you to set up the phrase to be
  35.     searched for and start the search.
  36.  
  37.     Find:
  38.     Type in the phrase here!
  39.  
  40.     Case sensitive:
  41.     This will ditinguish between upper and lower case letter.
  42.     The search is quicker if this option IS chossen!
  43.  
  44.     Magic characters:
  45.     This will allow you to use 'magic' or 'wild' characters
  46.     in your search phrase (as with Edit... almost!) The
  47.     window will display allowable code.
  48.     The search is quicker if this option is NOT chossen!

  50.     Drag directories here:
  51.     Dragging files or directories onto the window will start
  52.     the search. The find window will be closed as will the
  53.     options window, any alterations made in the options
  54.     window that have not been 'Set', will be lost.

  58.                        FILER WINDOW
  59.     =======================================================
  60.     
  61.     The filer window allows you to watch the progress
  62.     of the search, to pause the process or abort the
  63.     process. It is fully multitasking.
  64.     
  65.     The top window:
  66.     This displays the current activity
  67.     'Searching file'... in progress
  68.     'Paused search'... paused
  69.     'Search aborted'... stopped!
  70.     'match found'... a possible find?
  71.     'Finished'... process finished
  72.  
  73.     '????'... the file it is working on.
  74.     
  75.     'files searched'
  76.     This shows the number of files it has actually checked
  77.     
  78.     'files seen'
  79.     This shows the number of files checked or skipped due
  80.     to them being the wrong file type (e.g. Sprite).
  81.     
  82.     'Abort'
  83.     This will abort the search.
  84.     
  85.    'Pause'
  86.     This will pause the process and the process can be
  87.     resumed by...
  88.     
  89.     'Continue'
  90.     This will resume the search (after a pause or a find).
  91.     
  92.     'OK'
  93.     This will close the filer window. It is displayed when
  94.     the search is completed.
  95.  
  96.     'Run'
  97.     If a match is found within the contents of a file Click
  98.     here to Run the file (just like double clicking!)
  99.     Text files will be loaded into Edit and you an use Edit's
  100.     search facilities (F4) to refind the match. Other file
  101.     types may not have success when you try to run them!
  102.  
  103.     'View'
  104.     If a match is found within the contents of a file Click
  105.     here to view the file in it's directory.

  109.                       OPTION WINDOW
  110.     =======================================================

  112.     Click Menu on the icon bar icon and choose 'Options...'
  113.     to open the window
  114.     The option window allows you to alter which files will
  115.     be searched and which file will be skipped.
  116.     
  117.     Only search:
  118.     'Text files only (FFF)'
  119.     If this option is set only text files will be searched.
  120.     This is a very useful option when browsing information.
  121.  
  122.     'As selected below'
  123.     If you wish to search other file types, such as DTP
  124.     files, select this option and then identify them in the
  125.     window below.
  126.  
  127.     'All files'
  128.     Possibly of little value unless all file types are known
  129.     to be text type files!
  130.  
  131.     Files to search:
  132.     If 'As selected below' is chossen then a tick next to the
  133.     a file type will force a search of all files of that type
  134.     while a cross will make the search skip all files of that
  135.     type. Clicking SELECT toggles them on and off.

  137.     Drag example file 'types' here:
  138.     If the type of file that you wish to be searched is not
  139.     on the list drag an example file onto the option window
  140.     and it will be added to the list. This may be an example
  141.     from a directory display or saved from an application.

  143.     'Cancel'
  144.     This will abort any alterations made in the window.
  145.  
  146.     'Factory default'
  147.     This will clear the 'Files to search' list and reset
  148.     the window to recommended settings.
  149.  
  150.     'Set'
  151.     This will set any alterations made in the window.
  152.  
  153.     'Save settings'
  154.     This will set any alterations made in the window
  155.     and save the choices as a default when next run.
  156.  
  157.     'X Closing the window'
  158.     This will abort any alterations made in the window.
