These files accompany the second part of my technical review of Sibelius 7.
They are transcriptions of Mozart's "Marriage of Figaro" Overture.
(to save space on the disc only the first 150 bars are included)
The following Sibelius7 files are in this directory:
[They can be loaded into the Sibelius7 Demo Version, which is available from many PD libraries,
or direct from Sibelius Software. It was also on the recent AcornUser CD-ROM.]
FullScore - as it would be printed
Extractor - as FullScore, except that each woodwind and brass 'player' has it's own stave
PlayerS - like FullScore, except that non-playing features have been explicitly spelled-out
(this is suitable for playback on a single General MIDI synthesizer)
PlayerD - like Extractor, except that non-playing features have been explicitly spelled-out
and the string parts have also been split into separate players
(this can be played on a General MIDI synthesizer, but would benefit from being played on two synthesizers
in order to avoid problems with 'phasing'. This is not currently possible with Sibelius7 version 2.5.)
Clarinet1 - clarinet part (first player only)
Timpani - timpani (kettle-drum) part
Violin1 - first violin part (note that this includes notes for all three ViolinI players)
If you are interested in performing this piece with your orchestra, please contact me to obtain printouts.
I can also provide a recording of Sibelius7 playing the piece through a Roland Sound Canvas SC-88
(send me a blank audio cassette in a jiffy bag, with return postage).
