  1. The right of all and sundry to make modifcations to this program means
  2. that it is not possible to use version numbering (if I release 1.0 and
  3. three different people then modify it and call their versions 1.1 then chaos
  4. breaks out). Therefore this file is used instead. Each person changing the
  5. code should add an entry below. The complete file will then form a
  6. "backtrace" identifying all the people who have contributed to a given
  7. incarnation of the program.
