  15. {S:X;X;0;4;I have recently started using Wordz (v 1.02) and I have a few hints which may be of help to other Wordz users (perhaps for inclusion in Pipeline-Z).{ITR-X}{ITR-X}  l DELETE key does NOT cut to the clipboard - it deletes selected text for ever!{ITR-X} l You can insert a newline using Ctrl-Return without generating a paragraph break.{ITR-X}l You cannot insert any spaces after a Tab or a Ctrl-Return{ITR-X} l Shift-Clicking Select on the icon-bar icon opens the User Templates directory.{ITR-X} l Switching on the red button in the Style/Effect dialogues for bold only enables the bold state of the text is affected by that style. Whether the text comes out bold or not depends on whether the 3D button to the right is pressed. However, whenever the red button for bold is switched on, the 3D button is also automatically pressed. This can lead the unwary to assume that the red button switches the bold on and off rather than enabling the 3D button to control it. The same applies to the italic, underline (etc.) buttons){ITR-X} l There is no \öClear all styles\ò option in Wordz. If you want to remove a style, you must either remove it from the whole region or overlay part of it with the BaseStyle. However, in the latter case the underlying styles are still there, making the Regions very messy.{ITR-X}l When you are typing and you start a new paragraph, then you automatically revert to BaseStyle.{ITR-X}l You get a Force to New Page by : {ITR-X}{ITT-X}Menu Θ Page Θ Pages... \\\; {ITR-X}{ITT-X}click on [New] \\\; {ITR-X}{ITT-X}switch on [Page Break] button (if not already on)\\\;  {ITR-X}{ITT-X}click on [OK]){ITR-X}l If you selected a word and then use Find, it is automatically inserted in the Find dialogue box.}

  18. {S:X;X;0;8;At the moment I routinely use Impression for all my word processing (this letter was done on Wordz). It would be nice if at some point you could do an Impression-to-Wordz conversion guide to help people who are used to Impression get to grips with Wordz (eg. Clear all styles = Overlay with BaseLetter).}
  19. {S:X;X;0;9;Your comments in the March 1993 Archive magazine about how Wordz 1.00 is a usable but far from perfect equally apply to Wordz 1.02. While it does have superb tables and a good user interface, some of the basic word processing is pretty bug-ridden:{ITR-X} l the Insert key doesn\æt paste{ITR-X}l the Copy key won\æt delete forward into a new paragraph{ITR-X}l problems with spaces after tabs and clearing styles (see above){ITR-X}l when you replace a word using the spell-check-as-you-type, the caret is put at the start of the replaced word so you can\æt just carry on typing (the same thing happens with Paste).{ITR-X}l Ctrl-Returns are not exported in plain text{ITR-X}l the auto-save doesn\æt work properly{ITR-X}etc.}
