At the moment Shift-Delete cuts to the clipboard and Delete deletes for ever. Colton say this is desirable because that is the convention under Windows 3.1 but I want to swap them over! Any hints gratefully received.}
{S:X;X;0;5;Other points for new Wordz users:{ITR-X}l If you want to put some extra space between two paragraphs, you can just drag the row height marker (on the side ruler) down and hey presto there\æs a gap.{ITR-X}l When you export text as plain text all the Ctrl-Returns are ignored - very frustrating! To get round this, you need to Find-and-Replace them using the ^R combination in the Find box. What the manual fails to tell you is that you must first switch off the Ignore capitals button otherwise ^R is changed to ^r and then doesn\æt work! To transfer to Impression I usually use Find ^R and Replace with ^R\{CR\} which then automatically generates a carriage return.{ITR-X}l This next one is a bit complicated, but is worth thinking through: When you select a bit of text and then create a new style, you have the option to base the new style on the styles/effects in the selected text. This is like the Merge from cursor option in the Style definition box in Impression. Impression switches on all the enabling buttons for attributes which differ from the basestyle so you can immediately use the new style with a minimum of fuss. However, in Wordz you have to manually switch on each attribute which is altered (this is not a bug, it is a feature described on p. 106 of the manual!). To make matters worse, there is no indication in the style definition box as to which attributes are special to this bit of text and which are just \öshowing through\ò from the basestyle. The final straw is that you have to carefully observe the status of some of the greyed out options because they are automatically switched on when you enable the atribute (eg. bold, italic, fixed height rows, unbreakable paragraph...) even if they are specifically switched off in the selected bit of text. UGH!{ITR-X}l It is best to use the Style Θ Regions menu option (or Ctrl-R) to select text for basing a new style on so that all the text in the selection has the same attributes. This is because there is no obvious rule for how conflicting attributes are merged (eg. different sizes of text).}
