  14. What is QuikBoot?

  17.     QuikBoot is a program which loads the !Boot file inside programs. I got
  18. the idea from Acorn User May 1996, in the Software Requests section, so I
  19. decided to make up this program.

  21. What are !Boot files?

  24.     !Boot files are always loaded up when you enter a directory. They do
  25. things such as load the sprites, set up variables etc.

  27. How to use QuikBoot

  30.     To start off with, load !QuikBoot. An icon will appear on the icon bar.
  31. You may now drag an application, directory or archive onto this icon, and
  32. the !Boot file(s) will be loaded. If 'Recurse' is on (in the QuikBoot menu),
  33. then !Boot files which are also in other places in the app/dir will also be
  34. loaded. It will even look inside ArcFs Archives!

  36. Options Settings

  39.     The 'Recurse' setting is when !Boot files in sub-directories will be
  40. loaded as well as those in the root of the app/dir. If this is on, then this
  41. is done. You can select how many directories deep you want the recursing to
  42. go. For example, if it is set to '1', it will only boot the applications
  43. in the directory directly below. If it is set to 'All', it will boot all
  44. applications. You cannot choose a recurse level above 255.

  46.     The 'Allow Stopping' option allows you to press SPACE whilst QuikBoot
  47. is booting applications to stop it.

  49.     'Save Settings' will...er...save your settings!
