“ Q u i c k F i l e r ”
Allows the Filer to be controlled by means of the keyboard
by David Thomas, © 1997
version 1.00 (22 May 1997)

Introduction ______________________________________________________________
QuickFiler is a small patch utility which allows you to use many of the
standard shortcut keys in conjunction with the Filer.
QuickFiler requires a Risc PC-style !Boot application.
Usage _____________________________________________________________________
Before using QuickFiler, it must be installed into your computer's boot
sequence and your machine restarted.
Install it by copying the supplied !Boot over your existing !Boot
application. Upon restarting your machine, you will find that the Filer
gains the input focus when its windows are clicked on and that the Filer's
menu displays the relevant hot-keys next to certain items. Simply pressing
the appropriate key combination will activate that item.
Hot-keys _________________________________________________________________
QuickFiler provides the following hot-keys :
Select all ^A Large icons F2 Sort by name ⇧F1
Clear selection ^Z Small icons F3 Sort by type ⇧F2
Open parent ^B Full info F4 Sort by size ⇧F3
Sort by date ⇧F4
Delete DELETE or ^X Protect ^F5 Confirm F5
Count ^N Unprotect ^F6 Verbose F6
Help ^H Public ^F7 Force F7
Stamp ^S Private ^F8 Newer F8
Certain hot-keys are non-trivial to implement (e.g. Copy, Rename, Find)
as they utilise sub-menus which cannot be easily faked. For this reason,
this utility makes no attempt to emulate these functions.

Thanks to Ting Zwei Kuei for writing FilerKeys which didn't work /quite/
how I wanted it to, so I wrote this!
Many thanks to Andrew Clover for the WimpSWIVe module which makes an
otherwise impossible job, possible. :) (The WSWI-Help document, supplied
with this program, documents this module).
