Acorn C/C++ Update 1
====================
This is the first update to the Acorn C/C++ product (SKB78).
It is supplied under the same licence conditions as Acorn C/C++,
and can only be used in conjunction with that product. Any other
use is illegal.
It contains !Squash'ed files to replace some of those issued with
the original product.
We advise that you do the following:
1. Take a backup of your original release.
Create a directory on your hard disc called "Update1".
You will need about 1Mb free disc space.
2. Start up !Squash, and select the "Squash Apps" option from its
main menu.
3. Drag each of the AcornC_C++, Library and Modules directories to the
!Squash icon in turn. In each case, select the "Unsquash" option on
the resulting SaveAs box, and drag the icon to your Update1 directory.
The same can be done with the "Changes" file.
4. Now drag the unsquashed directories onto where you have installed the
relevant parts of Acorn C/C++. You should ensure that you have
appropriate filer copy options (eg Newer). The Toolbox modules
should be placed wherever your System:Modules directory is.
This release contains:
- a new version of !ResEd
- a new application !ResCreate for creating "blank" Object templates
for use by people writing their own Object Modules.
- new versions of eventlib and c++lib
- a standalone release of the "flex" library functions as previously
included in Acorn's RISC_OSLib library.
- new versions of the C compiler, and the C++ command.
- new versions of many of the Toolbox modules.
*** Note that only changed files have been supplied, so this release must be merged
with your original release - for example the !ResEd directory supplied in this
update is not a full version of !ResEd, just the files which have changed.
All changes are documented in the "Changes" file.
Application Notes can be obtained from Acorn on how to write your own
Object and Gadget modules. These are Application Notes 280 and 281
respectively.
