  13.  This application note documents the printers supported by the Acorn printer
  14. manager system supplied with RISC OS 3.1. This document will enable you to
  15. ascertain whether a suitable printer driver is supplied with RISC OS 3.1 for
  16. your printer.

  45.  Acorn's printer manager system, '!Printers', is an application (Found on
  46. App1) which installs itself on the Icon Bar of the desktop like a normal
  47. RISC OS application. Once loaded, printer definition files of your choice
  48. can be installed into the printer manager and then options can be saved so
  49. your choice of printer definitions automatically load when the printer
  50. manager is started.

  52.  Acorn supply a large number of printer definition files (found on App2)
  53. with RISC OS 3.1. There are a number of printers and printer manufacturers
  54. that are also supported by Acorn, but we do not have specific printer
  55. drivers for them.
  56.  
  57.  The table below lists printer types supported by the RISC OS 3.10
  58. Applications Discs and some additional models. Those printers without a
  59. specific printer driver supplied with RISC OS 3.10 have the nearest
  60. equivalent in brackets. It should be noted that various printers will
  61. require DIP switches to be set for use with our drivers. The ReadMe files in
  62. each directory contain details of any DIP switch settings that should be
  63. made.

  65.  There are undoubtedly many other printer supported by Acorn drivers even
  66. though they are not specifically mentioned in this document. If you become
  67. aware of any printer not mentioned within this document which can be driven
  68. by Acorn drivers please write with details to the address on the front of
  69. this application note and we will include the printer in the next update to
  70. the list.  Acorn are continually updating the number of printer definition
  71. files available.  Some printers definition files are not supplied as
  72. standard but can be requested from the Acorn Support Group address on the
  73. front of this application note.

  75.  A number of printers may support two or maybe three different emulations
  76. such as LQ 860 and IBM ProPrinter or BubbleJet and LQ 860.  In the list
  77. below we have only documented one of the printer emulation choices.
