  7. What is CLIPLIB?

  10.         CLIPLIB is a Freeware clip art library for use with CorelDRAW!.
  11. The artwork is copyrighted by the original artists, but released for
  12. public use in accordance with this disclaimer file.
  13.         Although in the proprietary .CDR CorelDRAW! format, the images
  14. can be easily translated to PCX, TIFF, and many other file formats.  In
  15. their present, .CDR state, they are high resolution, completely scalable
  16. and easily modified.

  26. How do I use CLIPLIB?
  27. ``````

  29.         Experienced CorelDRAW! users will recognize the .CLB and .CLH
  30. files as CorelDRAW! libraries.  Again, in their present state, they can
  31. only be used on an MS-DOS machine with Windows and CorelDRAW!, version
  32. 2.0 or higher.
  33.         Simply copy the files onto your hard drive.  Using the MOSAIC
  34. library program that came with CorelDRAW!, load up the library of your
  35. choice.  When you see an image that you want to use in your publication,
  36. highlight it, and then choose Extract from the File menu.  MOSAIC will
  37. ask you where you want to put the extracted file, and then a copy of it
  38. will be decompressed and written to your hard drive.  Then, in
  39. CorelDRAW!, choose Import from the File menu, and choose the file.
  40.         From there, the image could be exported into any file format
  41. that CorelDRAW! supports, including the popular PCX and TIFF formats.
  42. I chose to release them in their original CorelDRAW! forms rather than
  43. the other, more accessible ones, for a couple of reasons: this is the
  44. highest quality possible for the images, they're totally modifiable,
  45. giving the user the most amount of freedom, and finally, they take up
  46. less space than bulky PCX and TIFF files would have.

  49. So, what's the catch?

  52.         This section may seem like common sense to some people, but I
  53. have to put it in anyway.
  54.         Economists have this saying -- it goes, There Ain't No Such
  55. Thing As A Free Lunch -- TANSTAAFL for short.  Well, it's kinda true.
  56. Yes, you may use these images for whatever you'd like, and are under no
  57. obligation to pay any money -- they're absolutely free.  The catch?
  58.         The drawings are copyrighted, and may NOT be distributed in any
  59. modified form (this includes adding or deleting things from the
  60. library).  They can be modified, deleted, or added to for your personal
  61. use, but distribution HAS to include the whole darn thing AND this
  62. disclaimer.
  63.         Also, I'm not responsible for anything bad you do with this clip
  64. art.  If it causes you, your neighbor or someone at the other end of the
  65. world any harm due to use, misuse, or negligence on your or anyone else's
  66. part, tough.  Use at your own risk.

  72.         There's three libraries in CLIPLIB1: FACES, NATURE and STUFF.
  73. Each library should have both a .CLB and .CLH file -- so, you should get
  74. seven files in total: the six files for the three libraries, plus this
  75. CLIPLIB1.TXT file.
