A half way house between the Web and FTP, Gopher was once the easiest way of accessing files and information on the internet. Its menu-based format made it easier to find what you were looking for, but since the advent of the World Wide Web it has become largely neglected. You can still find a few golden nuggets with Gopher, but not without a struggle.
