  4. This program is completely free and unrestricted and it may be 
  5. freely copied for all to use, as long as it remains in tact, 
  6. unaltered, and no-one benefits financially from its 
  7. distribution! By all means, include it on your cover-mount 
  8. disk/CD-ROM, FTP/WWW site or public domain library, but don't 
  9. expect Electronic Cow to be responsible in any way for any loss 
  10. or damage to your system as a direct or indirect use of this 
  11. program. But hey, it works! The moral is don't tamper with it, 
  12. else it won't. Besides, you wouldn't like us to visit your 
  13. home, and ruin your work, so don't do it to ours please :)

  15. System Requirements

  18. An Atari ST/TT/Falcon with at least 512k of memory, and a 640 x 
  19. 400 display (colour or mono) or better. Oh, and you'll need one 
  20. MIDI wire and a sampler, without which this program is entirely 
  21. useless :)

  23. Wave Dumper is a small GEM utility for sending WAV file format 
  24. samples to a MIDI sampler. Most modern samplers conform to the 
  25. MIDI sample Dump Standard protocol, but since we own an Akai 
  26. S900, we've added a driver especially for this sampler too!

  28. Instructions
  29. ------------

  31. To load a WAV file, press the disk button (or [control]+[o]). 
  32. Wave Dumper will load any WAV-format sound, as long as it's 
  33. mono, and in Intel format (actually, it will load 
  34. Motorola-format WAVs, but they'll be inside out!). The little 
  35. smiley button opens the About box (not much in there, really!). 
  36. Once you've loaded a sample, the window title bar will change 
  37. to tell you the name of the file loaded.

  39. Next, choose the sampler you have in the driver options: either 
  40. Akai S900/950 or MSDS-compatible (should work with most 
  41. samplers!), and then the MIDI channel and sample number (from 0 
  42. to 99, or 0 to 32 for Akai samplers) to send it to. Then, press 
  43. the MIDI cable button, and off it goes. To abort the send, 
  44. press the [esc] button.

  46. Note that Wave Dumper doesn't need a closed loop system, so 
  47. you'll only need one cable from the Atari's MIDI out connected 
  48. to the sampler's MIDI in. Easy peasy...
