  2.    I have uploaded a set of rpms for use with the PPC shared library
  3. compiler. These are the files...

  12. A few notes. The libgr package is from RedHat 4.1 and provides shared lib
  13. versions of all the graphic formats (tiff, jpeg, etc) as well as
  14. conversion utilities. If you choose to rebuild libgr be aware that it
  15. is NOT installed until you do a 'rpm -i' on the resulting .ppc.rpm's.
  16. The xv rpms I have uploaded have been modified by myself to produce
  17. a version of xv that is linked with the libtiff.so and libjpeg.so
  18. instead of the normal static link that RedHat distributes. You will
  19. notice a trick in the spec file of xv-3.10a-6A.src.rpm. Because there
  20. are so many minor type differences in the old tiff headers xv uses
  21. I let xv build against these old headers and then linked against the
  22. newer versions of the tiff libs. The resulting program runs fine
  23. and saves us from having to mess with the authors code. Let me know
  24. if you have any problems with this version of xv. I have exercised
  25. the tiff functions in xv and it appears to work correctly. It is much
  26. smaller as well...
