  34. get everything under RedHat, as well as the disk images from images
  35. that you need for your system.

  38. GETTING STARTED

  41.   If you are viewing this document from DOS or Windows, substitute a
  42.   '\' for the '/' in the pathnames given below.

  44. The directory doc/INSTALL has information on how to get started.

  46.   The file doc/INSTALL/USERGUIDE/index.html can be viewed with a
  47.   web browser (choose "Open File" or similar option with your browser)
  48.   to view the Red Hat User's Guide.
  49.  
  50.   The file doc/INSTALL/install.txt explains how to make the
  51.   boot floppies required to install Red Hat Linux on a computer with
  52.   an Intel processor.
  53.  
  54. The directory doc/HOWTO has numerous documents in ASCII format which
  55. contain a wealth of information on Linux in general.

  58. INSTALLING
  59.  
  60. If you are installing this release via ftp, off of a hard drive, or through
  61. a PCMCIA card, you need both a boot disk and a supplemental disk. If you are
  62. installing via NFS or CDROM without using a PCMCIA adapter you only need
  63. a boot disk. If you did not receive floppy disks with this product, the 
  64. images for these disks are in the images directory. Either the rawrite program
  65. in the dosutils directory or 'dd' under any Unix like system can be used
  66. to transfer the image to physical floppies. Once the diskettes are made,
  67. insert the boot disk and boot your machine.
