  1. This directory contains a port of Emacs 19.34 for RiscBSD (binaries
  2. only, the sources can be found in /pub/unix/gnu). Just use `inst' to
  3. install.
  4.  
  5. This will install emacs beneath /usr/local/emacs - do not move this
  6. directory, Emacs has this path hard-wired! To *use* Emacs, you'll have
  7. to adjust PATH, MANPATH and INFOPATH, you can use the following to do
  8. this in /etc/profile (if you are using bash):

  10.   PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/emacs/bin
  11.   MANPATH=$MANPATH:/usr/local/emacs/man
  12.   INFOPATH=$INFOPATH:/usr/local/emacs/info
  13.   export PATH MANPATH INFOPATH

  15. Notes:
  16. * compiled with "-O3" under RiscBSD 1.2/X11R6.1
  17. * it uses LUCID-Widgets under X
  18. * the executable needs >3MB
  19. * the whole installation needs 30MB on your harddisc
