  26. 1. Installing CameraWindow.

  28. CameraWindow is started from ZoomBrowser EX Version 5.5. or later. This 
  29. software makes it possible to transfer images from a Canon camera as well 
  30. as make Canon camera settings. 
  31. Ensure that ZoomBrowser EX 5.5 or later is installed before installing 
  32. CameraWindow.

  37. CameraWindow supports the following image file formats. 
  38. - Files of images taken using a Canon camera
  39. - JPEG image files that conform to the DCF standard

  42. 3. Precautions when a Canon camera is connected
  43. ====================================
  44. (1) During communication between CameraWindow and the Canon
  45. camera, do not unplug the cable between the camera and PC, 
  46. use the Canon camera's mode dial, memory card slot cover lock 
  47. release switch or battery cover lock switch. Depending on your 
  48. PC environment, using one of these may result in malfunctions.

  50. (2) Do not put your computer in Standby mode while a Canon camera is 
  51. connected to the USB or IEEE1394 port.
  52. If you put your computer in Standby mode while a Canon camera is connected 
  53. to the USB or IEEE1394 port, leave the camera connected and bring the 
  54. computer out of Standby mode without unplugging the cable from the computer. 
  55. Unplugging the cable from the computer while in Standby mode may cause some 
  56. computers to fail to come out of Standby mode correctly. See the user manual
  57. for your computer for more information about Standby mode.

  59. (3) Communication with multiple applications at once is not supported. 
  60. Use only one application at a time to access the camera.

  62. (4) In Windows 98SE, disable Auto Power Off before connecting a camera via IEEE1394.

  65. 4. Downloading images.
  66. =========================
  67. (1) Before you download images to the computer using CameraWindow, check 
  68. that you have enough free space on the target disk. 
  69. If you download images to a disk that does not have enough free space, image
  70. transfer may stop midway and fail to finish properly.

  72. (2) Even if protection was set for images in CameraWindow, the image files 
  73. will not become read-only files when they are downloaded to the computer. 
  74. Use Windows Explorer to make the image files on the computer read-only 
  75. files.
