  7. Announcing version 1.2 of the CP/M UNARC utility:
  8.  
  9. * Provides an alternate version for use on non-Z80 systems.  Now all CP/M 
  10.   users can access archive files!  (See note below.)
  11. * Provides wheel byte support for easier use by RCPM sysops (see note).
  12. * Aligns file types in directory listing for improved readability.
  13. * Permits processing of "self-unpacking" archives (e.g. MS-DOS ARC512.COM).
  14. * Attempts to recover from "invalid archive file format" errors in a manner
  15.   compatible with MS-DOS ARC 5.12.

  29. These files will normally be distributed in (possibly) squeezed form, within a 
  30. library file, UNARC12.LBR.  (The CRCK and CHEK values shown above apply to the 
  31. UNsqueezed versions of these files, however.)  Item 5 may be used to provide a 
  32. requested program description after uploading UNARC12.LBR to a remote system.

  34. Items 6 and 7 are provided for programmers and advanced users; these may be 
  35. deleted from the released library for distribution to non-technical users.

  37.                      NOTE
  38.  
  39.     8080/8085 USERS:  The file UNARCA.COM is an alternate version 
  40.     of the program which will run on your systems.  However, it is 
  41.     larger and substantially slower than the standard (Z80-only) 
  42.     version, UNARC.COM.  (UNARCA.COM will run on ALL CP/M systems, 
  43.     but it is NOT recommended for users with Z80's!)
  44.  
  45.     RCPM SYSOPS:  UNARC now supports a wheel byte, eliminating the 
  46.     need to maintain separate copies of the program for sysop and 
  47.     remote use.  Just patch your wheel byte address into locations 
  48.     10AH-10BH.  Alternately, if you don't implement a wheel byte, 
  49.     patch a zero in location 106H to create a secure version for 
  50.     remote use.  Additional details are contained in UNARC.INF.

  53. instructions.  Refer to the notice in that file regarding rights of use and 
  54. distribution of this program and its associated documentation files.
