  3.                         Update Information - VDE 2.63

  6.      This is a quick guide to changes in VDE since version 2.62.  Read 
  7. VDE.DOC and VINST.DOC for further details.
  8.  
  9.      NOTE: There is now an IBM PC version of VDE; look for VDE11.ARC.  
  10. Primary distribution points for VDE are:
  11.      (1) Glendale Littera RBBS (818)956-6164 (CP/M and MSDOS versions)
  12.      (2) Compuserve SIGs CPMSIG (CP/M version) and IBMSW (IBM).

  14.      QUICK SUMMARY:  Several minor bugs have been fixed, and small 
  15. improvements made.  Details follow.

  17. VDE/VDM:
  18.      1.  There is now a Block Move command, ^KV (or ESC-V).  The marked block 
  19. is moved to the current cursor location.
  20.      2.  The scroll functions are now Wordstar compatible:
  21.               ^W  scroll up 1 line
  22.               ^Z  scroll down 1 line
  23. In order to allow this, the following commands had to be renamed:
  24.               ESC-<udrl>  horizontal & vertical shift
  25.                               (were ^W-<udrl> in VDE 2.62)
  26.               ESC-;       pause in macro (was ^W)
  27.               ^\          synonym for ^L repeat find (was ^Z)
  28.      3.  The ^O+,- commands to set and clear variable tabs have been changed 
  29. to ^OI,N to agree with Wordstar usage.
  30.      4.  The ^OP command now prompts for a page length value.  This lets you 
  31. change the length without using VINSTALL.  Enter 0 to disable pagination; just 
  32. hit RETURN to restore the default value.
  33.      5.  The commands to Write, Delete, and Print a block (^KW,Y,PB) now work 
  34. even when the cursor is in the block.
  35.      6.  The Replace function (^QA) now begins at the top of the file, not the 
  36. current cursor location.

  38. VDM only:
  39.      The screen update speed has been improved.
  40.  
  41. VINSTALL:
  42.      1.  There is now a User Option setting for the default Hard CR display 
  43. setting (^OD) in document files.
  44.      2.  The VDE/VINSTALL interface has been changed slightly to allow easier 
  45. installation of user entry/exit routines in the patch area.  See the FURTHER 
  46. PATCHING section of VINST.DOC for details.
  47.      3.  VINSTALL now accepts decimal input for items where appropriate.
  48.      4.  New terminals added to VDE: TRS-80 Montezuma.  To VDM: Bondwell 14.
