+ 1 CLIP
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <CLIP BEFORE> or <CLIP AFTER>
CLIP is a way of mass deleting whole chunks of text.
You can either CLIP everything BEFORE the "Top Line of the Screen"
or AFTER.
+ 2 CREATE
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <CREATE>
CREATE allows you to open a new T/Maker File. T/Maker asks:
1/1 WHAT FILE NAME?
All files names must be unique.
Anything contained in T/Maker's work space will be REPLACED
by issuing the CREATE command. That means if you want to SAVE
whatever work is in the work space, make sure you do a
SAVE before CREATE-ing a new file.
+ 2 DATA
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <DATA>
DATA specifies a new, temporary disk drive to GET and SAVE files from.
T/Maker will look for files from the DATA drive for the entire work
session unless you request a new DATA drive.
You can change the "default" DATA drive. See Reference Manual under
"Customization Notes" for details.
+ 2 DELETE
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <DELETE> erases a file from a disk.
+ 2 DO
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <DO>
DO will take the line on the " Top of the Screen ", drop it to
the WHAT NEXT? prompt line, and execute any commands on this line.
+ 2 FILES
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <FILES>
FILES will show you a listing of files on the specified drive.
+ 2 GET
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <GET> or <G>
GET will "get" a Disk File (a file that has been SAVEd on
disk) and bring it into T/Maker's work space.
Anything contained in T/Maker's work space will be REPLACED
by issuing the GET command. That means if you want to SAVE
whatever work is in the work space, make sure you do a SAVE
before GET-ting a new file to EDIT.
+ 2 MENUS
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <HELP>
On-Line HELP does not disturb current work space.
NOTE: You can "stack" HELP requests. WHAT NEXT? < HELP TABS >
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <MENU>
The command MENU provides a partial listing of T/Maker commands.
+ 2 INSERT
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <INSERT>
INSERT will "insert" an entire disk file into the current work space.
+ 2 POSITION
POSITIONING THE SCREEN:
T/Maker can be thought of as a very large chalkboard.
We can do large "hops" around our chalkboard by typing in row/column
coordinates at the WHAT NEXT? prompt.
Note: Upper left-hand coordinates are shown left of the WHAT NEXT? prompt.
+ 2 LIST
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <LIST>
LIST will allow you to view a disk file without affecting the working area.
You can use LIST when you want to view two disk files simultaneously.
The LISTing can be stopped and started by hitting any key.
+ 2 MERGE
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <MERGE>
MERGE will superimpose a disk file on top of the current work space.
+ 2 MIX
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <MIX>
The MIX command encrypts or "de-crypts" your current working file with a
given password, rendering it readable or unreadable.
The password must be two or more characters in length and cannot contain
a slash (/) or blank spaces.
WARNING : T/Maker's MIX command is FOOLPROOF. If you forget your password,
======= you can forget your data encrypted file.
To help you remember your password, you may give the password a clue.
A clue is separated from the password by a slash (/).
Example: 1/1 WHAT NEXT? MIX Rover/DOG
+ 2 RENAME
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <RENAME>
RENAME will "rename" the current work space. In a sense, you are
CREATE-ing a new file, except that it already has information in it.
Because RENAME effectively CREATEs a new file, you must SAVE the
"new" file if you want to keep it.
+ 2 SAVE
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <SAVE> or < S >
SAVE will copy the entire contents of the work space onto disk
using the name of the current work file.
Upon each SAVE, the previous version will be automatically
renamed with the file extension: filename.BAK.
+ 2 STOP
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <STOP>
STOP exits you from T/Maker and sends you back to the Operating System.
+ 1 BAR
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <BAR>
BAR prepares a BAR Chart based upon the values in either one column
or one row of a table. This Table must be in the working file and
must also conform to the format requirements of the COMPUTE command.
You can choose how the BAR Chart will be presented by experimenting
with various options.
BAR Charts may either be displayed, or placed into the working file
for EDITing and PRINTing.
(See Reference Manual & Quick Ref. Book for more information.)

Commands
...........
| PROOF | Checks the active area for words not in the dictionary.
| CORRECT | Corrects spellings based on the "correction list".
| SPELL | List words from a dictionary on the screen.
| AMEND | Adds or deletes words from a dictionary.
|.........|
+ 1 PROOF
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <PROOF>
The PROOF command checks the active area for any words that are not in the
standard T/Maker dictionary.
PROOF prepares a double column "correction list" of unknown words like this:
=! comming comming
Think of the first occurrence of the word as the current spelling.
Think of the second occurrence as the corrected spelling (you must use the
Editor to correct it).
PROOF also marks unindentified words in the text with [ ?= ].
An example of how this looks is ?=comming.
+ 2 CORRECT
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <CORRECT>
CORRECT will "correct" spellings based on the "correction list". You
must EDIT this list to enter the correct spellings before using CORRECT.
...........AFTER PROOF.........................AFTER EDITING............
=! compny compny | =! compny company
=! Ferrari Ferrari | =! Ferrari Ferrari
...................................|....................................
"compny" - obvious misspelling, correct the second occurrence of word.
"Ferrari" - the spelling is correct, leave the line alone.
A use of CORRECT would correct misspellings, delete the correction lines
and remove "?=" markers from the text.
See documentation for other options of correct.
+ 2 SPELL
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <SPELL word> or <SPELL IT>
SPELL lists words from Dictionary on screen or places them on Correction Lines.
You must give SPELL an Ambiguous Word Reference made up of letters and:
? question marks to represent one unknown letter.
* asterisks used to represent zero or more unknown letters.
...............................................................................
This command would list all words that start
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <SPELL spe*ing> with " SPE " and end with " ING ".
This command would add words to correction
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <SPELL IT> lines containing ambiguous words. Result:
=! compatable compat* compatibility compatible
+ 2 AMEND
1/1 WHAT NEXT? <AMEND>
AMEND creates or updates a Dictionary from a list of corrections or from
other dictionaries (see documentation).
