  1.                       SIDEWAYS v.4.0 NOTES

  3. SIDEWAYS v.4.0 has been extensively modified from previous 
  4. versions so as to improve the overall appearance of the printed 
  5. page and to allow optional double-spacing of the printed lines 
  6. when appropriate.

  8. The SIDEWAYS program was originally written by Doug Cox for the 
  9. Mannesmann Tally printer.  SIDEWAYS v.4.0 has been tested using
  10. a Panasonic printer and is therefore probably compatible with 
  11. Epson printers having graphic capability.  Gemini printers can 
  12. also be used, but it may be necessary to replace a few of the 
  13. graphic printer control codes with codes appropriate to Gemini 
  14. printers.

  16. If any anomalies (missing letters, etc.) appear on your terminal 
  17. during the menu selection of the parameters to be used in 
  18. printing a file, do not despair. This in no way affects the 
  19. printer output. This effect is caused by the use of a Turbo 
  20. Pascal compiler, installed for a particular terminal, to compile 
  21. the SIDEWxxx.PAS file. If Pascal file is recompiled on your Turbo 
  22. Pascal compiler, this minor irritation will be removed.
