RamTools Sam Weiss
(Mad@Kaypro)
Read me first file..... May 1, 1987
Overview:
RamTools is a RAM-Resident utility that allows you
to, at the press of a key do the following functions:
Screen Saver(This will blank out the screen, along with the
cursor to keep the CRT from being "burned in", Turning the
cursor into a solid block, Cold Boot(it asks you first, if
you hit the key on mistake), clear the screen, and Echo
characters to the printer. ALL THIS DOESN'T TAKE ANY TPA
SPACE, BECAUSE I PUT IT ABOVE CP/M, WHERE NOTHING USES THE
MEMORY(except this). THIS PROGRAM WILL ONLY WORK "OUT OF
THE BOX" ON A KAYPRO 4'84 RUNNING EITHER PLAIN CP/M, OR
ZCPR3. however, it won't be very hard to convert this
program to other kaypros/operating systems. The CP/M
version will also work in the EPEX operating enviornment.
Files in this library:
READ .ME : This file.
UNCR .COM: File Uncruncher to uncrunch the programs in
this library.
DUMPX .CZM: Extended file dumper/sector editor used by a
submit file to make the program "AUTOBOOT".
EX .CZM: Excellent replacement for SUBMIT utility...
used with *.SUB files listed below.
RT .ZZZ: RamTools source (in Z80 assembly language)
RT1 .ZZZ: Ramtools source file 2(needed with above)
RT .DZC: The DOCS to RT
RT .SZB: Submit file to put the 2 AZM files
together to make a .COM file(used after a
modification)
RTBOOT .SZB: submit file to make RT an "AutoBoot" program
(program will execute after a cold boot).
RTCPM .CZM: CP/M Version of RamTools.
RTZCPR .CZM: ZCPR Version of RamTools.
Note:
DUE to the apparent size of this library, I was forced to
CRUNCH every file in order to save space(and d/l time!).
Anyway, for your convience, I have included the file
uncruncher to uncrunch the programs in this library.
TO USE the UNCRunching program: extract all the files out
of the library onto the same disk. Then, type "UNCR *.*",
and right before your eyes, all the files in this library
that were crunched will be uncrunched!
Thank You!
