Msg: #35128 Sec: 4 - CP/M
20-May-90 01:45 PM
Subj: #35091 - MS-DOS Emulator
From: Randy Winchester
To: Balam Willemsen
Balam,
I mentioned in the message announcing this upload that it could also create
MS-DOS subdirectories. This isn't correct. The emulator can't create them
directly, but I did figure out a way to do it. First copy an existing MS-DOS
subdirectory to another disk and use a disk or file editor (I used ZAP35) to
zero out everything except the first two entries, which should be the . and ..
directories. Rename this file to MSDOS.DIR and use SET or NSWEEP to reset the
Read Only attribute. To install the subdirectory, copy it to User 0 of the
MS-DOS disk, then use NSWEEP to rename it and move it to User 1. It can then
be opened and files moved to it. This takes a little work, but if there's
only one CP/M utility you keep on-line all the time, it should be NSWEEP. You
can do almost anything with it.
