G-Base Help
G-Base is a simple to use data file manager. It will store up to 1000
records (actually more if you do not need to sort them. It can have up
to 15 fields. To use G-Base, first create a file by defining the fields
to be included. Be sure to design it the way you want. Major changes in
the file definitions are not possible at this time. Once created you can
enter data at each prompt. The records can be sorted, and listed. Print
forms are soon to be incorporated and will allow custom printed output.
Entry screen options are summarized below:
At each prompt enter the information you want in the field for that record.
To stop entering data, edit an existing record, delete an existing record,
or search for records enter a backslash (/) and press RETURN. This will
bring up the EDIT Menu with these options. The FIND option is different
because it will search for records which match the entry fields up to the
slash. Blank fields are not matched. Thus to find all records with the
last name of Martin, you might press RETURN on the first name field and then
enter Martin/ and press RETURN. The first name will be ignored and you can
then see all records with the last name Martin.
