  16. Patch info for making QTERM work on your system is included in QTERM.PAT.
  17. As provided, QTERM will work on a Televideo 803 (or a TPC-1), because
  18. that's what I developed it on. Note that not all the patches are
  19. necessary, but the more optional ones you get going, the more features
  20. QTERM will have. QTERM.PAT also includes a reference to a "1/2K patch
  21. overlay". I'm trying to collect as many of these as possible, so if you
  22. can, try to get yours back to me, with a memo telling which computer it
  23. works on, and which of the optional patches you have included. Somewhere
  24. along the way I'll release a second .LBR of patch overlays for QTERM.

  26. For those that are interested, the name actually arose because in mid 1985
  27. I needed a terminal program for my CP/M machine (A Televideo 803) and
  28. put a quick 1/2K program together in under an hour. This program has been
  29. growing ever since, but the name Q(uick) TERM(inal) program remains.
  30. It is now approaching 13K ....... :-)

  32. V4.1e is going to be the last release for a while, since it fixes the last
  33. outstanding nasty in QTERM: now the patch code can do anything it likes to
  34. any register: 4.1d had a problem with certain systems damaging IX and IY.
  35. Note that any standard 4.1d patch will continue to work with V4.1e, so
  36. there won't be any compatibility problems, in fact if you have a working
  37. 4.1d stick with it, since the only change from 4.1d to 4.1e was the code
  38. to preserve the index registers when calling patch, bdos and bios code.

  40. I also give thanks to Dave Goodman and Tom Bopp for all their help in
  41. debugging and beta testing QTERM. I'd never have got it anything like
  42. working and as full featured without their help.
