-DUALSYS.OP [part of FASTPBBS.LBR]
TO: PBBS SYSTEMS WITH MULTIPLE SYSOPS

"The DUALing SYSOPS"

Well here it is only days after Russ has released his
fabulous PBBS and we had to figure out ways around some
of the 'nifty' built in security features. As our name
"DUALing" implies, we had to find away to allow both of
us to have EQUAL Access / SYSOP NAMING STATUS and MESSAGE
RECEIVING Capabilities. (hummmm).
First - Thanks to Russ for releasing this great Z80 PBBS.
(yea!)
Second... and we have many users who want to leave a message
with (1) BOTH of US or (2) ONE of US in particular. Soooo
If in your PBBSHDR.MAC file at the SYSOP:: label you will add
a TWO part common name -(we havn't found a way around being
one part yet) like BOTH SYSOPS or THE SYSOPS or ALL SYSOPS etc.
Then on the FIRST PINSTAL run you use and leave a message to
ALL under THIS name, this will allow for multiuse of the
N)ame versus S)ysop option on ENTERING MAIL.
Third... have EACH of your REMOTES call in and 'BUMP' thier
ACCESS level to a #9 and your SET for ACTION (!)
USE: If the "ALL SYSOPS" name is used you will have access to
all messages and can LEAVE COMMON MAIL to ALL from "BOTH SYSOPS"
If the (individual) SYSOP NAME (real name) is used your
messages will reflect either your REAL N)AME or 'plain S)YSOP'
on MAIL and NOT the "ALL SYSOPS" (whew!)...
I know this may seem a bit of a double call, but when you have
'DUAL-SYSOPs' or >, running a system you may find it handy.
BEST of LUCK
